Transatlantic Twitter Reactions are all eyes for Mr Bridgerton aka Luke Thompson and specifically looking forward to seeing him on the screens. The series is created by Anna Winger and Daniel Hendler & directed by Stéphanie Chuat & Véronique Reymond.
It is said to be inspired by Julie Orringer’s novel, The Flight Portfolio, the story follows two Americans (Varian Fry, Mary Jayne Gold) and their allies who formed a scrappy rescue operation in 1940 Marseilles to help artists, writers and other refugees fleeing Europe during WWII.

Set in the port city of Marseilles, Transatlantic brings alive the WWII happenings during the 1940s as the Emergency Rescue Committee, led by American journalist Varian Fry and heiress Mary Jayne Gold, along with their instrumental allies, sought to resist Nazi forces and rescue European intellectuals and artists during WWII.
Risking their lives to help more than 2000 refugees escape, including many artists on the Nazis’ most-wanted list, an international gang of young superheroes and their famous charges occupy a villa at the edge of the city, where the threat of mortal danger gives way to unexpected collaborations and intense love affairs.
Filmed in English, German, and French language, the series focuses on human relationships more and presents a fictional representation of the characters and their personal affairs. It shows how the number of people involved in the committee were refugees themselves and gathered the courage to help people like them cross borders and reach a safe haven.
Many viewers are finding the series interesting which is loosely based on real-life characters and comment that the events shown in the series feel eerily relatable, looking at the conflict going on around the world. Many who binge-watched the series in one go found the show too short and want more of it, while others are feeling emotional over the last episode. Apart from it, many Luke Thompson fans were ecstatic to see him again in a show and even time-stamped his appearances to share among other fans.
