Tonight You’re Sleeping With Me Ending Explained: Did Nina Leave Her Husband?

Tonight You’re Sleeping with Me (Dzisiaj śpisz ze mną) is a brand-new Polish movie that premiered on March 1, 2023, on Netflix. Directed by Robert Wichrowski, the story revolves around a woman stuck in a loveless marriage until her life flips upside down with the arrival of her past lover. The film is based on the novel authored by Anna Szczypczynska.

Starring Roma Gasiorowska as Nina in the lead role alongside Wojciech Zielinski, Maciej Musiał, Jacek Koman, Malgorzata Mikolajczak, Ewa Wencel, Karolina Porcari and more. Anna Janyska writes the script, and the movie has a runtime of approximately 92 minutes.

Tonight You’re Sleeping With Me Ending Explained

Nina and Janek develop a romantic relationship after her husband, Maciek, leaves for the camping expedition in Iceland. The affair evolves into a more intimate one, and Nina starts to think about a possible future together. Janek is determined to pursue her, overlooking the fact that she is a married woman with two kids. However, her mother advises her not to make rash decisions and forget about him. Meanwhile, her father encourages her to leave the unfulfilling relationship and follow her heart.

Whom did Nina choose?

Following the conversation with her father, Nina decided to continue her new relationship with Janek. She arrives at his house and expresses her feelings to him. However, while they were engaging in an intimate activity, Nina called her husband by mistake. He overhears their conversation through the phone call and concludes that she has been cheating on her. He calls and confronts her the next day about the situation, and Nina panics. She decides to end her marriage and travels to Iceland to meet with her husband.

What happened to Maciek?

While he was returning from camping to meet his wife, Maciek saw an unconscious man lying inside a ditch. He immediately calls the authority for help. However, he grows restless and enters the ditch to help the injured man. But things go south when he tries to climb out of the narrow trench. His foot slips and falls back inside the area, leaving him injured and unconscious. Nina arrives and is directly taken to the hospital, where she is informed that Maciek met with an accident.

Did Nina and Janek get their happy ending?

Nina calls up Janek to inform him about the situation. She tells her that she made her decision not to leave her husband’s side, which angers Janek. He cuts the phone call without hearing any explanation from her. However, he calls her again the next day and visits her at the hospital. They decide to end the relationship as Maciek goes into a coma, and he requires her utmost attention during the dire times.

She steps outside the hospital and looks over the sea, reminiscing the past moments. Held down by responsibilities, she realises that the love of her life has vanished yet again.
