Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 13 Overview

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

When the first season ended, fans felt endless frustration because of the massive cliffhanger of the last episode that left many questions unanswered. This is why the hype around this anime is insane, and we are sure it will live up to it.

Director Hatsumi Kouichi, who also worked in anime like Darling in the FranXX, Deadman Wonderland, Hunter x Hunter, etc, will handle the direction for the series. Studio LIDENFILMS which handled the first season of this anime will be returning for this season. They have worked on Koi to Uso, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yofukashi no Uta, etc.

The opening song will be White Noise (ホワイトノイズ), performed by Official HIGE DANdism, and the ending theme will be Kizutsu kedo, Aishiteru. (傷つけど、愛してる。), performed by TUYU.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Another episode of Tokyo Revengers is here, and we are back again with a review of how this episode went. The episode starts with Takemichi holding the dying body of Mikey and hearing him confess that his life was full of suffering.

Next, we see a young Chifuyu meet a drenched Takemichi in heavy rain practising punching. Seeing him act so serious, Chifuyu asks what was he trying to pull and kind of makes fun of his antics.

But that is when he realises that in front of him is the adult Takemichi, who had come back after experiencing the death of Mikey. Takemichi tells him about the horrifying future where everybody dies, and Chifuyu promises to help him stand against Mikey so that everyone stays safe in the new timeline.

Later in the sauna, Chifuyu and Takemichi think about plans on how they can defeat the future Mikey, who will become evil. Takemichi comes up with an idea where he will gain respect after winning a conflict.

They also discuss how could someone like Mikey, who loves his friends and gang members so much, could become so ruthless to kill everyone. They predict that there must have been a trigger that made him do such a thing.

Takemichi first suggests that the incident of Kisaki being kicked can be the catalyst which changed the future for the worst. They also dabble on the idea that Mikey might need Kisaki, who represents the evil side of Toman. Now that he is gone, that darkness got projected towards Mikey.

Somewhere else, a new character appears in the scene. It is none other than the leader of Yokohama Tenjiku, Izana Kurokawa, who asks two new members why they would want to join his group. These members are Kisaki and Hanma, who have now chosen the way towards revenge by teaming up with Izana.

Things become an absolute mess when almost 300 members under Izana’s leadership come to Tokyo to defeat Toman. One group even manages to find Takemichi and his members creating a stage for the next conflict that will be explored in the next season.

Verdict

Just like usual, this season again ends on a cliffhanger where we see Takemichi at the mercy of Kisaki, who, yet again, addresses him as a hero. Only time will tell what might happen next.

Watch this anime on Hulu.
