Series Overview

Today’s Webtoon (오늘의 웹툰) is a comedy-drama TV series directed by Jo Soo-won and Kim Young-hwan and stars Kim Se-jeong, Nam Yoon-su, Choi Daniel and Jang Sung-yoon, alongside other cast members.

Se-jeong was last seen in the hit comedy-drama A Business Proposal as Shin Ha-ri, Nam Yoon-su starred as Lee Hyun in 2021’s The King’s Affection, while Choi Daniel was last seen in 2020’s It’s Okay to Not Be Okay as CEO Choi Daniel in episode 8 of the series.

Today’s Webtoon Plot

The plot on Wikipedia describes the story as: “Today’s Webtoon tells the story of On Ma-eum (Kim Se-jeong), a former judo athlete, who struggles to adapt to her new job as webtoon editor after retiring as an athlete due to an injury.”

The series is a coming-of-age story about a judo player who, after a tragic injury, is forced to leave the sport that she knows and loves to get into the harsh world of media and webtoon designing. Oh Ma-eum goes against all odds to get a job at the webtoon editorial department, thanks to her uncanny abilities but new challenges and growing up wait for the former judo national star as she discovers a whole new world.

As she struggles to adjust and find herself anew, she gets help from her coworkers Goo Jung-yeong and Seok Jin-hyung to make this transition easier for her.

Today’s Webtoon Cast

The coming-of-age series stars Se-jeong, Nam Yoon-su, Choi Daniel, Jang Sung-yoon, Ko Chang-seok and Kim Gab-soo, alongside other cast members.

Today’s Webtoon Release Date, Teaser and More

The series will air on July 29, 2022, at 10 PM KST. It takes over SBS’ Friday-Saturday 10 PM slot previously occupied by Why Her? It will 12 episodes and will air from July 29 to September 03, 2022. Expect the series to be hopeful, frothy and inspiring!

The series is based on the Japanese Manga series Juhan Shuttai! by Naoko Matsuda.
