The Zone Survival Mission season 2 (더 존 버텨야 산다 시즌2) is the all-new season of the mystery comedy variety show that left us laughing and learning in the previous season. The cast of season 1 returns once again, the Running Man series Lee Kwang-soo and Yoo Jae-suk along with Girls’ Generation Kwon Yuri.
The Zone Survival Mission takes the players to different zones with a specific stimulation that triggers challenges for the group. All they have to do is survive for four hours in the disaster-simulated virtual space.
The Zone Survival Mission season 2 episode 5 has a run time of 65 minutes.

The Zone Survival Mission Season 2 Episode 5 brings the trio representing mankind to the Joseon era, with a mystery awaiting their intellect. Lee Kwang-soo, Yoo Jae-suk and Kwon Yuri begin their task in this Mystery Zone while reminiscing memories from season 1 and without Kwang-soo’s shoes.
Dressed as a nobleman, a guard, and a deliveryman, the trio are welcomed into the zone with food that even zombies from season 1 couldn’t resist- Gukbap (hot soup with rice). While memories flood their tastebuds, the food is served but only for two people- Jae-suk and Yuri.

This leaves them stunned, but what shocks them further is the fact that Kwang-soo is invisible to everyone around them. Wondering what is happening, they soon find the cause when they see Kwang-soo’s dead body lying inside a house. Kwang-soo and the others are shocked by what they see and understand their mission for this zone.
This Mystery Zone is for them to find the culprit behind Kwang-soo’s murder as well as his shoes that have been missing since they entered the zone. Along the way, Kwang-soo, who is now a soul, will help them gather clues while invisible to all and with his timer on pause.
Thus, Jae-suk and Yuri begin interrogating people while Kwang-soo enters their homes for clues. They soon find out that this seems like a love feud wherein Kwang-soo is the target of many women in town while he remains at an arm’s length away from them. The trio continue investigating different people and soon arrive at a few suspects.
The mystery behind the murder continues, but as they find more clues their suspicion grows and this doesn’t seem like a love feud. The group soon find out who the culprit is as well as Kwang-soo’s shoes and body that went missing. Kwang-soo then puts on his shoes and his timer matches that of his teammates.
But this is not the end of the zone as it is revealed that he was a sacrifice made by three people in town. Now, with Kwang-soo coming back to life, they have to kill him once again for which they first need to capture him. Thus, begins a chase for Kwang-soo who is running for his life.

With just a few more minutes to go, Kwang-soo manages to escape the culprits and finally wins the zone.
The Mystery Zone is then explained to be one that makes them understand the importance of the little mysteries in life and how we face them. Every problem has a solution, it is the way we tackle them that makes the difference. Therefore, face the problems without giving up.
Summing Up: The Zone Survival Mission Season 2 Episode 5
This was another episode which brings comedy and teaching together with fun for both the cast and the audience. Episode 5 really brought up the hilariousness to another peak along with the realistic simulations that are put together on the show. It is understandable why some of the actors on the set lose their cool when working with this trio because they really know how to get us all laughing.
Altogether, this was another hilarious episode of The Zone Survival Mission and we are excited for what more is to come.
