The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2 Trailer: Henry Cavill Threatens to Unleash Hell in Cirilla’s Name

The story of Geralt, Yennefer and Cirilla’s journey is reaching a climactic conclusion. At least that is what The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2 trailer promises. Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, this series stars Henry Cavill as the titular Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Joey Batey as Jaskier.

Other cast members include Eamon Farren, MyAnna Buring, Cassie Clare, Aisha Fabienne Ross, Hugh Skinner, Bart Edwards, Mimi Ndierni, Anna Shaffer, Lars Mikkelsen, Tom Canton, Mexia Simson, Mahesh Jadu, Graham Mc Tavish and Ed Birch. The newest instalment of the third season will contain three episodes, each around an hour long. In the trailer, we see the aftermath of the Gala falling into shambles. Yennefer is running out of Aretuza, and things have not been going well at all.

A still from the trailer

Cirilla, once again, has to go away from the family. She has to find her own path. Even if that means breaking the space-time continuum to move to a world that existed before the conjunction of the spheres, it was fascinating to see that the trio that was supposed to stay together was separated. Geralt and Yennefer are like parents now. They are wholeheartedly accepting the fact that they are her parents. Yennefer even mentions that she has finally gotten all that she asked for.

Destiny has brought the three of them together. They are the harbinger of something incredibly ceremonious. Now that Ciri’s true lineage, the range of her powers, and the kind of things she can do are brought to the fore, this season could elaborate on the different challenges she will be facing as she goes out into the real world. Additionally, we’ll be able to find out whether Vilgefortz is actually the man hiring Rience and Lydia, the woman who cannot speak.

It would also be fascinating to see how the stories from The Witcher Blood Origin come into the second instalment. We already have a little taste of that in the first volume. But the second one would definitely bring in all the action, adventure, thrill, tension and drama to bring this season to a close. Perhaps now that Henry Cavill will take his exit from the show, there will be an arc to this storyline that will give way for Liam Hemsworth to come in.
