The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 1 Ending Explained

In The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 1, a lot is unwrapped taking us from where the last season ended to where the characters are in the present. We have Nynaeve and Egwene training to Aes Sedai. Meanwhile, Perrin is with a troop of soldiers. Mat, on the other hand, is under the care (or capture, we are not sure) of the Red Ajah. As for Rand, although everyone thinks he is dead, we see our Dragon very much alive in a village with a shaved head.

At the end of the first episode, we have Moiraine leave the house of the Aes Sedai who has been housing her and Lan. The relationship between Lan and Moiraine has been strained since she lost her power as she has been shutting out Lan. However, in the episode ending, we see Lan finally accepting Moiraine’s silence and taking her food to her room. However, in this moment Moiraine is seen riding away on a white horse.

The escape is short-lived when she encounters a Shadowspawn on her way and falls off her horse. She manages to kill one but, it appears that there is a group of these servants who serve the dark one. Lan ends up on the scene and protects Moiraine who is heavily injured. Lan too is extremely injured in the fight. Ultimately the two are saved by the Aes Sedai (Verin) and her Warder who was sheltering them. The episode ends with Lan asking Moiraine what has she done.
