The Price of Confession Ending Explained
The drama starts with us getting a rundown of Yun-su’s relationship with her husband, which is shown to be sweet and extremely fulfilling. However, one night, she finds him stabbed to death, and even though she caught a glimpse of someone just before discovering his body, she isn’t able to identify him. She calls the police for help, but isn’t able to save him.
In the aftermath, Prosecutor Dong-hun is immediately sketched out by Yun-su’s behaviour during questioning and is adamant from that moment that she has had something to do with the murder. Although there isn’t any incriminating evidence other than some circumstantial evidence, the judge eventually puts Yun-su in prison after evidence is presented against her.

Desperately pleading for someone to believe her, no one gives her the attention she requires, resulting in her losing hope. Just then, Mo Eun takes a special interest in her as she murders a family and, after being taken to prison, she gets in touch with Yun-su in some way to present her with a plan – she wants her to kill the couple’s son, Se-hun, and, in return, she will take the blame for Ki-dae’s murder.
Desperate to see her daughter, she decides to take the deal, a decision she will regret forever.
Who is Ki-dae’s murderer?
Soon after the two women are sent to prison, Mo Eun gets a new lawyer assigned to her, Jin Young-in. As it turns out, he is Ki-dae and Se-hun’s murderer.

He killed Ki-dae after the latter called the painting that he and his wife donated to an organisation plagiarised, and, desperate to clear his name and get an apology, he started harassing him. However, Ki-dae refuses to entertain either of them and, after engaging in a heated, unsuccessful discussion, Young-in’s wife ends up stabbing Ki-dae to death. To save her, he ended up cleaning up after her to save her from getting arrested.
As for Se-hun, when he realised that Yun-su wouldn’t be able to go through with the murder, Young-in killed him himself to implicate her in the crime and hopefully tie the entire affair up for good. Unfortunately for him, there was a video recorded by Se-hun that ends up getting him caught, as well as Jung-gu’s unwavering support for Yun-su.
Why did Mo Eun kill Se-hun and his family?

We later get to know that Se-hun was responsible for her sister’s death, after he, a gambling addict, recorded himself raping her and then sent the video to everyone. Heartbroken and embarrassed, she ended her life, and Se-hun got a very light sentencing. In a heartbreaking turn, everyone also questioned her sister’s character and blamed her for what happened, which resulted in Mo Eun taking revenge against them.
What happens in the end?

In the end, Mo Eun sacrifices herself to apprehend Young-in, and the two of them die after fatally stabbing one another. Meanwhile, Dong-hun confronts Young-in’s wife, and she will face the consequences of her actions. The last scene showcases Yun-su and Sop going to Thailand, and it turns out that Mo Eun and her sister were there when Yun-su and Ki-dae got married.
