The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 3 Recap Contains Spoilers
It has been 2 weeks since the hacker got into UBA’s system. The secret or personal data is uploaded on a portal called UBA Leaks. Earl shows Cory a list of unreleased email which contains problematic emails. He immediately calls Paul to tell him to go ahead with the first offer to acquire the company. Cory also leaked the scandalous email to the media.
The UBA team is back to work, trying to move on from the cyberattack panic. However, news coverage about their company from the leaked emails list startles everyone. The UBA Board President Cybil had made racist remarks on The Morning Show co-host Christina Hunter. Cybil referred to Christina as Aunt Jemima in her hiring email.

Christina is shaken when she reads the contents of that particular email and the mean comments on a news article covering the same. Cory talks to Christina and tries to make a deal. He wants her to keep the issue in-house. Cory assures her that his team is working on how to make it right.
Cybil asks for updates from Alex about what Cory is doing. She wants Alex to do an unfiltered interview with her so that she can share her point of view on the matter. But Alex refuses to do so. Cybil tells Alex she had her back when everyone wanted her to go. Cory, Stella Alex and others discuss what to do about the situation. Cory wants to let it go, but others disagree with him. Stella tells him why the unfiltered interview is important. Layla, another office employee, goes through more such leaked information and finds out how so many staff members are underpaid.

The leaked emails have caused a lot of disruption at the UBA. The staff has realised that their superior not only makes racist remarks but pays people according to their race. The tension heightens when Christina takes Cybil’s #unfiltered interview instead of Alex. Just when Cory thought things were working in his favour, things slipped out of his hands.
The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 3 Review: Discussion
In The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 3, the makers have highlighted the issue of racism in the workplace. The episode is better than the first two and makes a lot of sense. The entire meeting sequence led by Stella and Mia helps one understand the indifferent treatment given to people of colour. It also discloses the ignorant behaviour of certain individuals unaffected by such a biased system.

Cory is a business-minded person, and as expected, he did everything to make this issue a business opportunity. At least he’s honest about his intentions, unlike Cybil, who gives silly excuses for her remarks on Christina. The highlight of the episode was the #Unfiltered interview. Christina asks some hard-hitting questions that Cybil, who wants to come clean, exposes her sick mentality.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the third episode is intriguing and insightful. The work politics shown make sense compared to the chaotic drama and narrative we saw in season 2. One can only hope the show improves with every new episode and carries on with such important and effective conversations.

The new episode is now streaming on Apple TV+.
