The Mole Season 2 brings forth a bunch of people again who will compete with each other to get a cash prize in the end. However, the twist is that there is one out of them all who is trying to sabotage the game. The Mole Season 1 was a fun watch – with different seemingly fresh faces trying to use everything that they have in order to get to a cash prize, the competition was interesting, fierce and somewhat believable.

The Mole Season 2 Review

Now we are at The Mole Season 2 and I have to say, even though the series does a fantastic job of bringing forth some interesting games this season as well, the contestants make some horrible decisions that eventually hamper their chances of winning a ton of money in the end.

Let’s talk about the game first – the way the series is structured is very interesting & unique and depends on people’s connections in the show as well as their ability to assess their fellow competitors. The games that the contestants play are unique and are also different from last season’s and it’s the freshness that keeps things moving. And, sure, it’s not some mind-bending puzzle that will leave viewers scratching their heads but these tasks are also accompanied by the competitors assessing each other to figure out whom to trust and whom not to.

The Mole Season 2 Review

I think that’s what The Mole excels at – trying to give us small glimpses into mole action while making us question everyone and everything. However, this season, every contestant seems to lack the ability to make sensible decisions based on facts. Contestants, mole or not, are absolutely fine with letting money be thrown away without rhyme or reason and without any clear strategy. The series tries to play it off as some sort of strategy, but you know there’s nothing behind those cold, dead eyes.

However, I will say that The Mole is one of the most engaging shows thus far on Netflix. Considering the number of silly dating shows that we are subjected to almost every week, this one is a little different and makes us think a bit more. Although this season will annoy you to no end (till now, of course), the show is still very interesting and it’s clear that the production team have done a fantastic job of trying to make the challenges accessible yet entertaining.

The Mole Season 2 Review: Final Thoughts

The Mole Season 2 Review

This game show, although with some really silly contestants this time, is really fun to watch as usual. The games are fantastic, everyone suspects everyone else and there’s not too much-fabricated drama. It’s a good time, once again.
