The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Episode 4 Recap
Today’s episode was more wholesome than ever, thanks to a new addition to the cast. Previously, we saw Formalhaut, a colleague and friend of Mira, express his desire to join our hero on his mission. Mira, who is secretly using his mission as an excuse to pursue the magical girl, isn’t thrilled about Formalhaut tagging along. Unfortunately for Mira, Formalhaut is oblivious to the hints and has a dog-like personality that makes him hard to shake off.
If I had to describe Formalhaut in one word, it would be “Labrador.” He’s full of energy and enthusiasm, more likely to chase a ball than engage in any evil deeds, as we see in this episode. He admires Mira for his ruthlessness, recalling how Mira used to be someone who would crush his enemies without hesitation. Mira even once suggested that Formalhaut leave the evil organization because of his kind-hearted nature. But what Formalhaut doesn’t realize is that Mira has become a bit of a simp.
Mira, however, must keep up appearances and pretend to be on a serious mission. In front of Formalhaut, he fakes a battle with the magical girl, even convincing himself that he’ll defeat her this time. But all his bravado fades when he sees Mimori running toward him in her scandalous yet cute magical girl outfit.
The episode revolves around Mira’s attempts to convince Formalhaut that he’s still loyal to the organization. This charade is only possible because Formalhaut, despite being a Lieutenant, is utterly clueless and easily deceived.
The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Episode 5 Preview
In episode 5, we might see more of Formalhaut who still will not understand that Mira actually loves their enemy. He will follow Mira and Mimori like a puppy, something that Mira will not like. We might also see some other lieutenants or magical girls.
