The Killing Vote Episode 3 Preview: The Killing Vote (국민사형투표) is a crime-thriller Korean drama series directed by Park Shin-woo, written by Jo Yoon-young and based on the webtoon of the same name by Uhm Se-yoon and Jung Yi-pum. The series stars Park Hae-jin, Park Sung-woong and Lim Ji-yeon in lead roles.

The crime drama series follows a mysterious man who doles out punishment to the most heinous criminals in the country who fall through the cracks of the justice system. His M.O. includes sending a text message when a criminal doesn’t face justice and citizens over the age of 18 can vote on whether or not they should die. If the results in favour of punishment receive 50% or more votes, then this mysterious figure, who operates through the internet, shows the said criminal a taste of the consequences of their actions. With such a dangerous precedent being set, Kim Moo-chan, Kwon Seok-joo and Joo Hyeon get embroiled in a wild chase to figure out who the punisher is.

Park Hae-jin was last seen in From Now On Showtime as Cha Cha-woong (alongside Jin Ki-joo and Jung Joon-ho), Park Sung-woong was last seen in 2023’s Bloodhounds as Kim Myeong-gil (alongside Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi), and Lim Ji-yeon was last seen in Lies Hidden In My Garden as Chu Sang-eun (alongside Kim Tae-hee).

Prime Video describes the plot as: “People are busy watching the screen. The person wearing a mysterious mask so called ‘Gaetal’ appears, and the Killing Vote begins.”

The Killing Vote Cast

Moo-chan’s tragic fate pushes Hyun to do her own investigation. After doing some more digging, she finds an address that has a deeper connection to someone she knows. In the meantime, she continues to correspond with Seok-joo in order to find out the truth. On the other hand, Gaetal continues to hunt for his next victim, but will the police finally be able to nab him before he strikes once again? Lastly, is Moo-chan truly dead, or is there a deeper plan at play here to get closer to the truth?

The Killing Vote Episode 2 Recap

Hyun gets entry into the special unit and starts to investigate the Gaetal case with Moo-chan and his team. As the second execution draws near, the two of them rush against time in order to find the perpetrator. The search takes her to Seok-joo, who tells her to find the victim instead of the killer. 

As the police force tries to catch up to the killer, who already has a head-start, the day arrives for the second execution. With the votes coming in stronger than before, the police rush to find the newest victim. Strapped to a bomb, Moo-chan and Hyun race against time to get her to a spot away from everyone. However, at the last moment, Moo-chan refuses to get out of the car in hopes of saving the victim. Unfortunately, that does not go according to plan.

The Killing Vote will air every week on SBS in Korea as well as on Amazon Prime Video in select regions.
