The Joys and Sorrows of Young Yuguo Storyline/Plot
The plot of the Joys and Sorrows of Young Yuguo revolves around the life of Yuguo, a 16-year-old student from China, who discovers his passion for Eastern European Poetry at a very early age. He has a thing for reading different types of poetries and finding their true meaning, often through a keen deep dive.
His passion soon leads him further and enhances his attachment to the place of origin. Yuguo sends out a mail to study and read literature at the university of Romania. (Which is also one of his biggest dreams).
Yuguo’s parents appreciate the dream of their son and want him to complete his studies in Romania. Soon, it all becomes a reality when the professor at the university is impressed by his letter. He also mentions that everyone wants to study in Romania, but no one expresses their love for the country as deeply as Yuguo.

We see a different and contentful version of Yuguo when he finally reaches Romania. He makes the most of this opportunity and leaves no stone unturned in the learning process. Yuguo writes and performs his own letters, describing his love for the country and its culture.
Not only was Yuguo amazed by the literature of the country, but by the place itself. In short, the opportunity meant everything to him. All in all, the documentary covers Yuguo’s personal journey of falling in love with Romanian literature and culture.
