The Interest of Love: The Story So Far
The love triangle, if you can call it that, has reached peak toxicity with Sang-su and Su-yeong going a bit too far with their mutual attraction and their respective spouses going scorched earth over it. Mi-gyeong goes the route of begging and manipulation while Jong-hyeon, who himself seems to be in an inappropriate relationship with his study buddy, starts doubting and guilting Su-yeong.
After a particularly nasty cheating incident comes to light at KCU Bank, things spiral further out of control. Sang-su realises that he can’t keep his feelings on the backburner anymore while Su-yeong tries to create space between her and Sang-su. Unfortunately, though, unable to keep him at bay, she starts a rumour that she slept with Gyeong-pil to keep Jong-hyeon and Sang-su away. But is that all she did?
The Interest of Love Theories

Sang-su and Su-yeong did spend the night together
I say this because the saucy scene at the start of The Interest of Love episode 12 and the last scene of the episode showcase Su-yeong wearing the same clothes. If it were a figment of Mi-gyeong’s imagination, it’d be difficult for her to predict the exact clothes that Su-yeong would wear that night, considering it happened after her conversation with Gyeong-pil.
This might also tell us why Sang-su was so shocked. I mean, obviously, he would be shocked regardless of whether they spent the night together or not – it would be odd to know that your best friend spent the night with your love interest. However, I think he’s even more confused with the situation because they literally were together the night before!
Sang-su and Su-yeong won’t end up together
And I say this as someone who does want them to end up together. With the issues that two people have, I think the best course of action for everyone involved is to get some therapy and say single for a bit.
Sang-su and Su-yeong make sense. They have mad chemistry, and it almost feels right when they are together. However, let’s not forget the horrible baggage and the constant miscommunication that they face. Plus, this ordeal that they are going through isn’t a good idea either. Add to the fact that both basically cheated on their spouses, you have a relationship that is just itching to end.
Or maybe that’s why they should end up together?

Mi-gyeong gets to know the truth behind her breakup with Gyeong-pil and…
… they get together.
We get to know that Gyeong-pil started that rumour to make sure Mi-gyeong stays away from him. I think her family threatened him in some way that could’ve ended up pretty badly for him in the long run, and thus, he needed a sure-shot way of making her stay away so that she wouldn’t make up excuses to come back.
But after this disaster with Sang-su, Mi-gyeong might just choose to go after her first love and get together with him, specifically after she realises that Gyeong-pil was always trying to take care of her and everyone else.
Jong-hyeon is going to end up with Seon-jae
And honestly, good riddance.
Su-yeong leaves KCU Bank
I think she will finally get that college education that she clearly wants and put herself first for once. I also think leaving the bank would help her grow as a person and make her more assertive, helping her get rid of her past demons.
