The story of The Girl from Plainville has been one sensational piece of miniseries to be invested in. The series recounts the unique case of Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter in 2015 for involuntary manslaughter, which not only gained prominence while the proceedings but, has been the talk of the town often thereafter. Hulu’s miniseries tries to put sides of the story in perspective and, we are almost nearing the end of it.
The series is created by Liz Hannah & Patrick Macmanus and, inspired by The Girl from Plainville by Jesse Barron. Elle Fanning headlines the series as Michelle Carter, along with Colton Ryan as Conrad “Coco” Roy III, Chloë Sevigny as Lynn Roy, Norbert Leo Butz as Conrad “Co” Roy II, Cara Buono as Gail Carter and Kai Lennox as David Carter, with Peter Gerety as Conrad Roy, Sr., Michael Mosley as Joseph Cataldo, Aya Cash as Katie Rayburn, Ella Kennedy Davis as Sydney Roy, Pearl Amanda Dickson as Susie Pierce and others.
According to the last episode of The Girl from Plainville, which was episode 7 titled ‘Teenage Dirtbag’, we see Michelle Carter’s mental state being evaluated by Dr. Breggins, brought in by Cataldo (Michelle’s defence lawyer). Dr. Breggins’s testimony puts Michelle’s mental state in a questionable position when she was talking to Conrad due to ‘involuntary intoxication. However, Katie Rayburn finds her own way to get back at the defence and, point out certain loopholes in the testimony. Well, with everything under wraps, what is next in store for Michelle?
