The Divorce Insurance Episode 8 Recap
Picking up from the last episode, Ki-jun and Han-deul’s fated kiss is interrupted by a phone ring. Of course, that immediately makes everything awkward, and Ki-jun makes a hasty exit. Han-deul’s heart-fluttering encounter, however, ends in disappointment as she is disappointed to get her mother’s text, reminding her to make time for a family meeting.
On the other hand, Ki-jun is surprised to find Na-rae standing in front of him as he gets down from the elevator and more so when she asks to go up to his house. He pulls her aside and opens up to her about the house swap, leaving her stumped. Meanwhile, Jeon-man also arrives at Ki-jun’s house, only to find Han-deul there, making for another very awkward encounter. In the end, Jeon-man and Na-rae end up meeting as well.
Elsewhere, Seon-hee and Young-kyu’s relationship paints a rather sad picture, although after getting verbally beaten down for the umpteen number of times, she reminds him that they are about to get a divorce and he should make his own food from now on.

That night, Ki-jun and Han-deul have an awkwardly sweet conversation about their feelings for one another, and she tells him that she would much rather share a romantic relationship with him than just be friends. Elsewhere, Jeon-man and Na-rae drink together and share a rather romantic night listening to music.
The next morning, the team rejoin with a renewed sense of hope in order to keep their insurance department running. Before parting ways, Han-deul and Ah-young decide to help Seon-hee get the divorce if they find out that Young-kyu is cheating on her. Later, Jung Jung-chi meets Lee Jung-shin for lunch, making it clear that he’s scheming something with her against Plus General Insurance. Elsewhere, Han-deul and Seon-hee have a chat while Jeon-man and Ki-jun follow Young-kyu to see whether or not he’s actually cheating.

Of course, they stumbled into what they thought was cheating — Young-kyu was simply buying a sewing machine. Now caught red-handed, they decide to come clean to him while Seon-hee opens up to Han-deul about why she wants to divorce her husband. It’s clear from their conversations that they both love each other a lot, especially when Young-kyu tells the men that Seon-hee has dementia. In the end, Young-kyu employs Jeon-man and Ki-jun to help him do everything that he has planned for Seon-hee before it’s too late.
The next day, the real challenge awaits the team as they head over to Young-kyu’s house to help them clean and create something special for Seon-hee. In the end, their hard work pays off as Seon-hee is overjoyed to see her beautiful new house and her old sewing machine. Everyone at Plus General Insurance is also overjoyed to have helped a couple in crisis.

That night, they go out to celebrate, but their happy times are cut short when Na-rae walks in looking sombre and letting them know that the task force has been dissolved. Cue the shocked faces!
The Divorce Insurance Episode 8 Review

What an emotional ending to this week’s second storyline, and a heartfelt end that felt well-deserved. Actors Park Young-gyu and Cha Mi-kyung have batted it out of the park with their fantastic acting, and the storyline is so relatable and warm that it’s difficult to fall in love with it. Of course, it was a rough start, but things went quite well. I do have a few questions about the plot, though, but this Kdrama requires you to suspend a little bit of disbelief, so that’s what I am choosing to do.
And, of course, the drama is getting more dramatic, and the upcoming week will see the data leak storyline taking shape. Let’s see what awaits Ki-jun and Han-deul!
