The Continental First Poster: John Wick Spin Off Gets Fans Excited, Read On

The Continental is an upcoming John Wick spin-off series developed by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward and Shawn. The crime drama will serve as a prequel to the popular action movie franchise starring Keanu Reeves. Coolidge and Ward will write and serve as showrunners for the series.

Albert Hughes and Charlotte Brändström will be directing the series, and the plot will follow the background story of how Winston Scott came to his position as proprietor of The Continental Hotel in the 1970s. The show will star Colin Woodell, Mel Gibson, Jessica Allain, and Mishel Prada in the lead roles.

The plot will showcase how Winston establishes the hotel as a safe haven for assassins where no business may take place. The older version of the character is played by Ian McShane in the movies. In John Wick: Chapter 4, he managed to establish his hotel, which once was taken down. Apart from exploring the historical aspect of the monumental structure, it will also contain real-world events, including the Great Garbage Strike and the American Mafia’s rise to economic power.

Other actors from the ensemble cast include Nhung Kate, Ben Robson, Peter Greene, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, Adam Shapiro, Mark Musashi, Marina Mazepa and more. The miniseries will run for a total of three episodes and will premiere on Peacock.

Additionally, the fans of the movie franchise are extremely excited by the news. For the longest time, fans had been wondering and questioning the existence of the said hotel in the movie and the significance behind it. Most of all, they want to know how it all started. The series will provide a much-needed explanation of the series of events leading up to the creation of the organisation. Moreover, a peek into Winton’s life is a treat for the viewers as much about the character’s backstory is not talked about in the movies.

The poster consists of the elevator buttons of the hotel in a rustic style. “Prepare for Check in” is written at the top of the panel, welcoming both guests and the audience. Blood is splattered at the bottom of the slab. However, one interesting aspect of the picture is that floor 13 is missing on the panel. Fans are speculating that a teaser for the series will drop on the upcoming 13th of April or the next month. Meanwhile, some of them point out that expensive hotels avoid putting the number 13 due to bad omen.
