The Bondsman Ending Explained
The series starts with Kevin Bacon’s Hubs Halloran getting murdered while out on a job and wakes up with his throat half open, three demonic fingerprints on his wrist and probably with the worst headache. Confused and a bit dazed, he gets out from between the walls and goes back home to find his mother talking to Pastor Ron. At his desk, he suddenly gets calls from someone called Pot O’Gold on all of his phones but chooses to ignore them, opting instead to give his ex-wife’s new beau a visit. Lucky is surprised to see him, indicating that he probably knew about Hubs’s death but chooses not to say anything in front of his family.
He follows the Earle brothers to their cabin and after handcuffing them, gets a surprise visit from Pastor Ron, who turns into a demon and mercilessly murders the brothers. Hubs is left shocked and disgusted and runs back home to find Midge sitting in his living room with Kitty. She explains that after he was sent to Hell, the devil saw potential in him and sent him back to find runaway demons and send them back where they belong and if he doesn’t comply he will be sent back to Hell. With not many choices in the matter, he takes up the offer.

What is Pot O’Gold?
It’s almost like a recruitment service for Hell where people recruit others in their “downline” and get a cut of the commissions that those under them get. They target vulnerable people in need of miracles to get a hold of their souls in exchange for helping them in some way or another. It’s an MLM scheme, but with more dire consequences, essentially!
What Was the Sin that Hubs Was Hiding?
Towards the end of the runtime, Hubs is forced to come clean when he faces the ultimate nemesis who might just usher in the end of times — Lilith. Months ago, in an alcohol-fueled rage, Hubs had accidentally killed the local bartender Cheryl after mistaking her for Lucky. Desperate and without any options, he had buried her in his backyard and let everyone in the town think that she was missing. Considering that he had murdered someone and then had hidden the fact from everyone, he was sent to Hell when he died.

What Were the Clues that Hubs Starts to Find Through His Assignments?
Throughout the runtime of The Bondsman, Hubs is given different tasks to complete through fax. As he continues to catch demons and send them back, he can’t help but figure out that every incident includes human sacrifices. Although Midge reminds him that demons aren’t here to sacrifice, they just need a human host to exist, Hubs can’t shake the feeling that there is more to the story than meets the eye. Thus, when he joins all of the incidents together on a map, he finds a pentagram coming to life. This indicates that there is more to the story than anyone else was willing to admit and he immediately goes to Midge with the information.
Although she refuses to believe him at first, she later tells him that her bosses have told her that there cannot be another human sacrifice in his next assignment and failure to do so might bring in the end of times. Unfortunately, in episode 7, Midge becomes the human sacrifice, giving Lilith a chance to rise from the ashes in the form of Cheryl.

What Happens in The Bondsman Episode 8?
In episode 8, Midge and Hubs team up together to fight against Lilith who has come back to Earth to get out of the devil’s grasp and start an uprising. They successfully trap her inside a pentagram, as Hubs had come to the conclusion from an old photo that the way Lilith comes to life is also the way she has to leave, but instead of getting the job done, Hubs’s selfishness and overconfidence end up costing him dearly. He makes a deal with Lilith to take away the mark of the devil from his arm and set him free and in exchange, he will do the same with her. Ignoring Midge’s warnings, he makes the deal and Lilith, transferring herself inside a crow, cuts Hubs and Cheryl loose.
Later, Hubs is seen celebrating and although the police arrest him, it’s clear that he thinks that he has won this game. Unfortunately, he couldn’t be more wrong.
What Happens to Maryanne?

In the last scene, as we see Hubs celebrating his win over the devil and hoping to tackle Lilith when the time again comes, he is shocked to find Maryanne possessed by Lilith. Delivering the ultimate betrayal, Hubs is left shocked as Lilith holds everyone in the bar hostage and threatens to murder all the men, including Cade, and asks Hubs to work for him or see everyone, including his ex-wife and son, die. The last scene showcases Hubs in a terrible predicament, having gotten deeper into something that he was not ready for.
