CLOSE YOUR EYES All My Poetry MV Review: Debut Filled with Nostalgic Feelings of First Love

On April 2nd, 2025, the South Korean Boyband CLOSE YOUR EYES All My Poetry MV was released. This marked their much-anticipated debut after their win on the survival show Project 7. The music video holds a soft, youthful, lovely vibe that makes us nostalgic about the feeling that passed by us when we were in our first love era. Speaking of poetry, novels, and the words that flow by us when we think about that one person, this song marks the beginning of the “literature boy” persona that the group is set to portray.

CLOSE YOUR EYES also abbreviated as CYE made their debut on April 2nd, 2025, with their first mini album Eternalt. This seven-member boyband was formed from JTBC’s survival show Project 7 and is managed by UNCORE. The group consists of members- Jeon Min-wook, Ma Jingxiang, Jang Yeo-jun, Kim Sung-min, Song Seung-ho, Kenshin, and Seo Kyoung-bae. Their debutante album consists of 8 tracks, namely- Close Your Eyes, Subtitled, All My Poetry, How To Dance, Laid Back, To The Woods, Stay 4 Good and Upside Down.

All My Poetry serves as the album’s title track and speaks of a boy’s first true love experience that comes with a hint of nostalgia and a wish to go back in time and change things. While stuck in a loop thinking of how things could have gone better if he had changed a few things, this song is relatable, soft, fun, and filled with youthful energy that makes us smile without much effort. There’s a lot more to say about this music video, so without further ado, here’s a review of the group’s debut music video!

CLOSE YOUR EYES All My Poetry MV Review

There is a story in this song that captivates you right from the start; as soon as the video begins and the tunes begin to play, you see something setting into place and are caught in the moments brought in front of you. The song is filled with instances that we have all seen somewhere in life and makes you find it relatable in ways that you find yourself smiling soon after. Adding on to these scenes are the lyrics of the song that bring you back to a time when you, too have found yourself writing a name over and over again. Bringing the time when poetry, novels and love songs began to make sense, this song is filled with a feeling that makes it all the more loveable.

The true magic of this song, in particular, is how you have one person finding out his power to make a change in time, and he doesn’t shy away from creating a magical moment that was almost missed by his friends. In a way, this also helps him out because he is alone onstage in the beginning, but by bringing a change in these people’s lives, he is able to stand on stage with a group of friends who never leave him alone.

I absolutely love this magical theme that is brought into the song, which shows that a playful fate can bring unexpected surprises to us all. A small miss may leave you alone, but when corrected, it can bring you something so special that it will remain unforgettable. Call me a romantic, but this song is beautiful in so many ways that I find myself drawn to the magic that the group brings through this song.

Finally, I have to talk about the choreography and the cinematography of the song that adds to the endless layers of the song, bringing us the perfect debutant MV in a matter of minutes. It is soft, smooth, and just perfect for the song, which speaks of first love, fate, and the magic that plays it all.

Altogether, this music video is stunning, and I am captivated by what the song brings to the audience. Seeing the band bring something like this has got me intrigued by what more they are to present in the future and I look forward to their next project.
