The Batman: What Happens in the Post Credit Scene?

Matt Reeves’ The Batman will surely go down in history for not only being one of the most authentic films representing the iconic DC comic character but, also the one film where the post-credit scene does not leave you even after you leave the theatres. Produced by DC Films, 6th & Idaho, and Dylan Clark Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures with a screenplay from Reeves and Peter Craig, the film stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot / Penguin.

Praises for The Batman is only growing with every passing day and, one of the essential reasons is how the film ended, giving the audiences not one but, two of Batman’s most infamous villains and a brief exchange they have that hints towards the next film in the franchise. But what felt like a post-credit scene initially wasn’t all that. Even though the ending of Batman is as good as any, the makers have taken the concept of post-credits one notch up and, given us something like never before.

What is The Batman post-credit scene?

After the credits have rolled, their is one last little nod to the Riddler as the screen flashes a ‘goodbye’ with a question mark hinting if there are chances for our villain to return in the future. Following that comes a URL on the screen for ‘rataalada’ comes on screen that when searched for, directs the audiences to this website. When you click for retrieving your reward on the website, you are presented with a poster riddled with clues, which of course is on you to crack.

Theories are that cracking the clues on the poster leads you to the next main villain in the next Batman movie. Circulating on the internet as an answer to the URL riddle poster is Hush. This theory is more so convincing because there was a reference to this particular villain during The Batman as the reporter who was murdered for covering up Thomas Wayne and Falcone’s connection was named Edward Elliot, which could make him Tommy Elliot aka Hush’s father from the comics.
