Today’s episode had a much stronger focus on romance than we’ve seen in this series so far. It starts with the introduction of Momiji, the only daughter of the Tengu elder, who comes to negotiate with Rimuru. Before we learn her intentions, we flashback to when Benimaru and Albis visited the Tengu village to discuss constructing a highway.

During their visit, Benimaru and Albis explain to Momiji that they don’t intend to claim or possess Tengu land. They only seek permission to pass through the Kush mountains, home of the Tengus, and potentially dig a tunnel for the highway. However, the discussions don’t go as planned, as Momiji immediately picks a fight with Albis, developing a rivalry.

The tension eases when Momiji’s mother, Lady Kaede, appears and reveals her connection to the Oni. She trained under Master Byakuya, Hakurou’s grandfather, and shares a more intimate connection with Hakurou himself. The major shock comes when she declares that she expects Benimaru to marry Momiji.

The situation escalates further when it becomes clear that Albis also has feelings for Benimaru. The matter turns into a full-blown contest for Benimaru’s hand in marriage, drawing Rimuru’s attention. Meanwhile, Rimuru and his subordinates openly discuss their own romantic troubles and expectations.

In this episode, we will see more people coming to the festival. We will also see Momiji living within Tempest so that she can stay with her father and woo Benimaru. The Beastmen might also come to stay in Tempest. Other than that, we might also see other new characters whom we have not seen before.
