Taxi Driver Season 3 Predictions: Is Moon Chae-won the First Client? Here’s Why We Think So

Taxi Driver Season 3 has already been confirmed by the creators and with Moon Chae-won’s cameo in the finale episode, many theories are roaming around the internet. The SBS action drama is based on the webtoon The Deluxe Taxi (Red Cage) by Carlos and Lee Jae-jin, and the sequel series is directed by Lee Dan from the teleplay written by Oh Sang-ho.

The cast of the Kdrama includes Lee Je-hoon as Kim Do-gi, Kim Eui-sung as Jang Sung-chul, Pyo Ye-jin as Ahn Go-eun, Jang Hyuk-jin as Choi Kyung-goo, Bae Yoo-ram as Park Jin-eon and a new addition Shin Jae-ha as On Ha-jun was added to the second season.

The show’s plot follows a Rainbow Taxi company, which looks like a normal taxi company on the outside. But the employees working there with Chairman Jang Sung-chul, Go-eun, Kyung-goo, Jin-eon and the deluxe taxi driver Kim Do-gi are far from normal, as they secretly help people get revenge. They don’t help just anyone, but rather the victims who have been left helpless and are at their wit’s end.

In the first season, we see that Do-gi feels guilty for not being able to protect her mother against a serial killer. He is recruited by the Rainbow Taxi company, a secret organization that avenges victims who were not protected by the law. Through his journey, Doki questions what justice truly means. The season dealt with the character’s own personal vendetta & the line between ethical & unethical.

In the second season, the team that had dispersed after getting exposed comes together to help ordinary citizens with big problems. This time, it was all about the different stories & how they helped each person. However, they also came across a common enemy who decides to get them out of the way by any means possible. Although the Rainbow team worked together to get out of the situation, they had to deal with many life-threatening situations.

Taxi Driver Season 3 Predictions

At the end of the second season, the show took a year’s leap and we see all the characters still working together and helping people. There was a news broadcast of a sexual assault case in the military base, where the victim Seargent Hwang Hye-ri committed suicide when her complaint was not heard & rather dismissed without punishing the culprit.

It was shown as the next case they are working on, with Chairman Jang standing in front of the board with the images of the victim & alleged culprits. The other members were also driving off to their designated locations. Prior to the last scene, it was shown that Kim Do-gi is transferred to the same military base as the victim. He reports for duty as Lieutenant Do-gi but is rather met with suspicion from his seniors who wonder if he knows that the assault happened here.

Whether he knows about it or not, they are not much concerned as one is seen saying that they can bury another body, if he tries to dig up about Hye-ri’s case. Here, the peculiar thing is when he walks out of the main office, Do-gi is met with another officer which is played by the actress Moon Chae-won. But instead of greeting her back, he walks away ignoring her.

Since that, many viewers are curious about Moon Chae-won’s character and wonder what her role in everything might be. Some even wondered if she is the victim who committed suicide & Do-gi imagined her standing there. Thus, he didn’t greet her back. However, this is not at all true, as you can see her name tag on the uniform, which says her name as Oh Mi-seo.

She could be someone with whom Do-gi worked in the past, before leaving the military. Her expression tells of someone who came across a person she hasn’t seen in a while & all of a sudden felt sombre & nostalgic. Probably, she is the one who made the call to get revenge on Hye-ri’s culprit as she might have also faced the same issues.

Considering Do-gi’s character, we know that he doesn’t do something without a motive behind it & just when he walked past Mi-seo, the camera angle was shown from the window on the second floor of the office. Such angles usually signify being watched by someone & this could be the reason for Do-gi’s ignorance as he didn’t want to be seen as someone associated with the victim or her friends.

The case shown in the show could be loosely based on the 2021 case of the South Korean air force base where Seargent Lee Ye-ram complained about her colleague for sexually assaulting her while coming back in a car after team dinner. The military did not bring formal charges against the culprit until she committed suicide & was highlighted in the news. Even after that, it was a long way to justice.
