Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 Overview
Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 (구미호뎐 1938) is a sequel to the much-loved fantasy Kdrama of the same named and is directed by Kang Shin-hyo and Jo Nam-hyung. The Kdrama stars Lee Dong-wook, Kim So-yeon, Kim Bum, Ryu Kyung-soo, Kim Young-ji, and Hwang Hee alongside other cast members.
The sequel brings the gumiho Lee Yeon away from his happy ending and back to the year 1938 where he once again comes face to face with his brother Lee Rang and Ryu Hong-joo. Now, he has to find a way to return to the present and to his loved one, but this isn’t something that will come to him easily.
Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9:20 PM KST timeslot previously occupied by Pandora Beneath the Paradise.

Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 Episode 2 Recap
Lee Yeon is given an errand by the Taluipa in exchange for information to find his way back home. However, he comes across Hong-joo during this mission and puts in all his effort to escape from the woman who is obsessed with him.
Upon completing the errand he is told that the gate will open 29 days later on the night of the lunar eclipse, thus, he will have to stay in 1938 until then while protecting the guardian stone. Given no choice, he decides to stay with his brother and returns to Myoyeongak only to find himself facing Hong-joo.
Giving into his fate, he asks for her help the next day regarding the man in the mask only to be given another task by her in exchange for the help. Lee Yeon soon finds himself solving the case of young women attacking people in the city and soon finds that a hair salon is what is common between them.
He infiltrates the salon and finds a small kitchen god who had been doing it on someone else’s instruction. She soon reveals that it was a masked man who had her do this after which she dies.
Meanwhile, Hong-joo finds out who the masked man is and is stunned because it is none other than Cheon Moo-young. However, she puts aside all questions and is overwhelmed with emotions when facing him.
Elsewhere, Lee Yeon and Lee Rang finally complete their mission and head back but are instead reunited with Shin-joo who had been searching for the former.
