Max has been expanding their roster to include all kinds of content, including something like Swiping America, which is described as a rom-com docuseries. While this genre is something new altogether, it is interesting to see that streaming platforms allow creators to explore all avenues of content by giving them the opportunity to merge genres and push the limits of what kind of content belongs on television.
With a show like this, there is bound to be some kind of boundary pushed and some kind of interesting insight. Created by Johnnie Ingram and Steve Warren, known for their award-winning series We’re Here, this programme is set to explore ideas of sex, love and relationships through a new lens.

In this series, it is expected that there will be four cast members, Ashleigh Warren, Reagan Baker, Kesun Lee, and Kris Kelkar, who will be doing all the dating and the swiping in this series.
Swiping America Plot/Synopsis
In this journey to date people, there are four singles who will be taking their bags across the States to find their true match. All of these people are trying to figure out the reason why they haven’t been able to find a connection all this time. While sometimes, the four of them will share their views, while other times, we will see their dates happening in real-time, giving us an insight into their mindsets and their tendencies.
According to the trailer, the director and producers will already choose the dates for them that they have to go. The director and other crew members have already swiped dates for them. All the participants have to do is to go to it. While there may be many reasons why something works or doesn’t work, we can have some of our questions answered as the show progresses. Each of these participants has a crutch that doesn’t allow them to fully commit to a romantic relationship the way they should have.

Meanwhile, one of the participants also shares their experiences being a queer person and asked to identify with labels like masc or femme, when they feel like neither. Even though this series seems to tackle sex, relationship and love across the country, the crux of this show is understanding identity and the choices they make to stay or leave based on that.
