Netflix invests in its sports docuseries, as we see the Break Point trailer showing us the wonderful world of tennis and its nitty gritties. Featuring sportspeople like Felix Auger Aliassime, Casper Ruud, Nick Kyrgios, Matteo Berrettini, Iga Świątek, Paula Badosa, Taylor Fritz and Aryna Sabalenka alongside other cast members, this series comes from the producers of F1: Drive to Survive, the acclaimed show that focuses on the personal and professional struggles of the Formula 1 drivers in their most intense career moments.
In the trailer, we see the players discussing the prestige of the grand slam title and their desire for it. The visuals show us the different players striking hard, making their mark and sharing how the Slam in New York and Wimbledon are incredibly acclaimed events. Amidst this, they also discuss Serena Williams, a master player to whom many fall incredibly fall short. However, with her retiring soon, the up-and-coming players have some hope for winning. They know that no one can beat her if Serena is in her best form.

Players share the politics that take place even within the sport. There are people who don’t want others to win, and there are some who are waiting for their moment to prove themselves openly. Even if people hate the player, they need to keep going, and they need to deliver. Some have chosen to share their personal stories, speaking of the accessibility and reach of this sport that is only available to a certain class of people.
They all want to win, for themselves, for their pride, for their honour, for their community. But there can only be one winner in the Wimbledon. The next few shots show the tennis players bending over backwards, stretching past their limits and making returns that would only be attributed to legends. It is a world that everyone wants to be a part of and one that not everyone knows everything about. Sharing legacy, creating a line of influence and being a role model are things these players vie for. These are the things that will make them timeless.

At the end of the trailer, there is just one sentence, “If you get the chance to change your life, grab it with both hands.” A stellar indication of what this second part of the series will bring to the world of tennis. Commentary, insight and valour will become the cornerstones of this series. Check it out when it starts streaming on Netflix.
