Leading SEVENTEEN’s latest comeback with its “grand sound”, Super now has a much-needed choreography video that paints the 13-member K-pop boy group’s strength at its best. The song’s official music video dropped on April 24, 2023, and is still trending like there’s no tomorrow. Its larger-than-life visuals again established why the group’s members, when together, are called the “Kings of Synchronisation”.

While their production values clearly drive the official MVs and often feature close-up shots that don’t always capture the entire dance routine, K-pop groups have made it a point to release dance practice videos for the same and the camera to catch the expansive look of their choreographies for the fans. The Super choreography video has the group dancing their heart out to the fierce track powered by Korean themes and signature sounds in a stadium because, this time, an ensemble gathering of backup dancers also accompanies the huge group.
It’s quite poetic how the group unveiled this video on International Dance Day, or World Dance Day, celebrated on April 29, 2023. The members (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) sporting black clothing from top to bottom distinguish themselves from the white T-shirt-wearing backup dancers. So, the video’s aesthetic symmetry is maintained.
One of the most attractive feats achieved by the group is how efficiently inclusive they are in terms of playing to the strength of each of its members. Although The8 was injured at the time of comeback preparations, he’s been seamlessly included, with his presence playing a major role in the video despite him not performing otherwise.
In the middle of things, he walks in towards the centre and commands the choreography afterwards, even while keeping a calm demeanour not to hurt himself more. The official MV also plays along to the same note by positing him with a kingly and intimidating stance, never making us feel he’s not part of the choreography. The song’s sturdy and powerful sound is impactful from the get go, and as expected the group’s main goal by putting it out for the fans was to cheer them up.

While Super serves as the first title track video for the group’s 10th extended play, FML, the second one for their song F*ck My Life, will drop on May 7, 2023. This is the first album they’re promoting with a double title track scheme; the music act’s album has broken major records upon recording 4 million sales on the first day of its release. FML consists of 6 songs, the 4 others except the ones mentioned above are Fire, I Don’t Understand But I Luv U, Dust and April Shower.
