Super Bowl 2023: Rihanna Set to Headline the Event Next Year

Pop icon and performer Rihanna is all set to headline the next Super Bowl Halftime Show. The popular singer first hinted at her participation in the event, followed by an official confirmation in a statement released from Roc Nation on Sunday.

Notably, Rihanna posted a picture of NFL Football on her Instagram, which got fans excited about the big announcement. The post came at the right time when there were already reports circulating about her participation.

The last album that Rihanna released was in 2016. Since then, there have been talks about two albums in work from the singer, however with no official release date. Now that the singer is headlining Super Bowl, the anticipation for her next album is more strong than ever.

The R&B singer was offered to headline the event in 2019, but she eventually turned it down in support of Colin Kaepernick. After a four-year gap, Rihanna is finally set to make a return.

This time around, the Super Bowl event will be sponsored by Apple Music. Therefore, marking a decade-old partnership with Pepsi. The title sponsor had announced the split in May this year. Furthermore, according to reports, Apple Music is said to have a multi-year contract.

With the NFL rights, Apple has ventured into sports streaming. Earlier, only traditional companies invested in broadcasting related to sports, but now streaming platforms seem to be developing a keen interest in the field.

Rihanna is set to join the likes of Beyonce and Madonna

Last year, the Super Bowl Halftime event had performers like Snoop Dog, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige. The performance received a total of five Creative Arts Emmy nominations and ended up winning three Emmys. This also included an outstanding variety special, marking a first for the event.

Some popular Halftime show performances include Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Prince, Madonna, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, and The Weeknd.

The event will take place on February 12, 2023. And is scheduled inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Moreover, Super Bowl Halftime is one of the most watched Television events, drawing millions of viewers each time. You can watch the event live on NBC broadcast.
