Succession Season 4 has been filled with twists and turns all along with the way, especially in terms of Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) final fate and Waystar Royco’s future. However, it is the traumatic conclusion for Kendall Roy’s ascension, which has overtaken the internet space for debates and arguments.
Succession Season 4: What was Written Inside Logan Roy’s Will?

The latest episode of the power struggle saga features a surprising revelation, in terms of Logan Roy’s most vital document. The entire instalment generated enough tension around the idea of the media mogul’s successor and the new interim CEO of the company. Moreover, when the board members (Frank, Gerri and Karl) were busy plotting their own set of plans, they came around the intriguing set of papers, which had already sealed the fate of Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong).
Frank discovers (and hesitatingly reveals), Logan’s plan for the future of their empire. The undiscussed will, mentioned Kendall Roy as the new CEO of the conglomerate, in case of his untimely demise. However, with only one twist, a thin pencil line.
Although the note had mentioned Kendall’s name, Logan had drawn a rough line with a pencil, which itself translated into an ambiguous subtext. The entire thing was interpreted as something to each of his own. And created a thin layer of doubt inside everyone’s mind, including Kendall’s.

Did Logan Roy Crossed Out or Underlined Kendall Roy’s Name?

As far as the metrics of the episode go, there is no clarity on the issue. For instance, a character who benefitted from Kendall’s succession interpreted the line as something underlined for heavy importance, while others who could reap no personal gains, claimed it to be something crossed out after much looking.
Based on what Frank mentioned in the episode, Logan drafted the document nearly four years ago, before Kendall committed an act of war against his father and his ailing company. Therefore, the chances of him revising the will are far more likely than anything. Especially, after the whole Dethrone campaign, which resulted in some heavy backlash for Waystar Royco.

How did Kendall interpret Logan’s Will?

Initially, when Kendall had to push everyone inside his team, he made sure to describe it as a line, instead of a crossed-out correction. The Roy clan lead even slammed Shiv when she started to counter his point and claimed that at least there is no mention of a weaker Roy sibling inside the papers.
However, after the formalities of the ascension were completed. Both Roman and Kendall were brief about their PR strategies, and image whitewashing ideas, to clean up the mistakes of their past. This included a classic tactic to throw some shade on the dead (Logan Roy) and spread false narratives about his old-age decisions, which were mostly taken by his children.
The idea is rightfully rejected by both the Roy siblings. who agree over the fact that their father deserves some respect after his untimely death. The notion comes back in discussion when Kendall Looms over the piece of paper on his phone, as his way of understanding the final truth.
Kendal takes the decision of leaking some maligning information regarding Logan, after glaring over the underlined/crossed-out part in the will. It’s quite clear from his actions, that he interpreted the pattern of his destiny to be crossed out, rather than underlined.
