Contrary to the fans’ belief in the upcoming Stray Kids SKZFLIX release being a documentary, last week’s official teaser reveal for the title has informed us better about this being a music drama instead. Fuelled by fictional stories based on the K-pop boy group’s forthcoming overall 13th EP RockStar (樂-STAR), the JYP Entertainment octet is expanding its universe and blowing up the “Stray Kids hot megaverse” into existence. There’s been a lot of buzz around this movie of sorts and it all began way back in 2021 when the SKZFLIX title was merely introduced to us through the Step Out 2022 video.
Eventually, a trailer was also released following a long wait at the 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023 Seoul Special (UNVEIL 13) concert, earlier in October 2023 itself. With the video now out on the Stray Kids YouTube channel for the whole world to see, the teaser dispels some doubts, while still keeping us in the dark, thus exacerbating the intrigue factor surrounding this new release. Here’s what we know about the music drama coming ahead.

Stray Kids SKZFLIX Music Drama Plot / Synopsis
Among the many teasers and previews released for the group’s upcoming album release, the SKZFLIX teaser introduces us to a convoluted picture and storyboard. In what appears to be a movie-within-a-movie, the teaser first offers us a look at all 8 members engaging in a heavy discussion about making a new movie and what their concept for the same would be.
In the midst of all that, certain members are also questioned why they want to be actors, to which Lee Know has a clear response affirming that through this medium he can be free. The film deals with the octet preparing for a short film festival. With Seungmin helming the screenplay for the movie they’re about to make, he suggests that it centres around protagonists who must go back in time, but it’s not merely restricted to time travel, rather the film is about a parallel world.

With control over where and when they are, the members will be able to tell which timeline they’re in. Regardless of what the detailed concept is like, the movie clearly deals with the group’s overarching concept of the “megaverse”, referring to a higher-order universe that contains multiple pocket mini universes in it. This concept has also been defined in one way or another through the band’s discography and other music videos. The ultimate vision behind it all is that no matter where they are, whether in the real world as Stray Kids, or in the fictional world living as characters, they’re all meant to find each other in the end.
SKZFLIX Movie Cast and Crew

As per the credits listed at the end of the recently released teaser, it has been revealed that all members of the group have been involved in the making of this Stray Kids drama movie. The SKZFLIX film is a JYP production, with the group’s leader Bang Chan stepping in as the producer, Han as the director and Seungmin as the writer. Hyunjin helms the cinematography, with Bang Chan and Han handling editing and the production design being dealt with by Bang Chan, Changbin, IN and Hyunjin. Changbin is also credited as the SFX supervisor, while Lee Know, Felix and IN star in the film.
