Star Wars Movies and Shows Releasing in 2023

The Bad Batch Season 2

The second season of the Animated Star Wars series, The Bad Batch, will be arriving on Disney+ at the beginning of this year. Premiering on January 4, 2023, the series will pick up from where season 1 ended. The show will have a two-episode premiere.

The Mandalorian Season 3

Much-awaited season 3 of The Mandalorian is happening this year! Releasing on March 1, 2023, the plot will continue after The Book of Boba Fett. The viewers will get to see more of Grogu and Din Djarin in the upcoming new season.

Star Wars: The Acolyte

Directed and written by Leslye Headland, the new Star Wars series will follow the final days of the High Republic era and take the viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers. Lee Jung-Jae, the Squid Games actor, will star in the show. Dafne Keen, Manny Jacinto, Dean-Charles Chapman, Jodie Turner-Smith, Amandla Stenberg, Rebecca Henderson, James Henri-Thoma, Carrie-Anne Moss, and more will also be appearing in the series.

Star Wars: Visions (Volume 2)

The animated series Star Wars: Visions will get renewed in 2023. The new season is set to release in Spring, as per the official announcement in Star Wars Celebration 2022. There are not many details of the plot, but it is expected to pick up from where volume 1 ended.

Ahsoka

The new series will spin off The Mandalorian‘s character, Ahsoka. The role is taken up by Rosario Dawson, and Dave Filoni is writing the series. The story will be set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian, which will fill in Ahsoka’s missing gaps in the story.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures

The animated series will follow the stories of young trainees who start their journey to become Jedi Knights. The series is mainly geared towards children, which according to the creators, will help the young generation learn important lessons in life. The series is in development and will be released in Spring 2023.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

The new series will be directed by Jon Watts and will star Jude Law, as announced at Star Wars Celebration 2022. The show will reportedly take place during the post–Return of the Jedi reconstruction that follows the fall of the Empire, similar to The Mandalorian. The series will release in late 2023.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

The movie will be directed by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, but due to a few scheduling conflicts, the movie might get delayed. The director was supposed to create the third instalment of the DCU superhero movie, but it got cancelled.
