Squid Game Season 3 Ending Explained
The season starts right after the massacre in the second season – Gi-hun is absolutely heartbroken with the turn of events and loses all hope that he can stop the games like he had planned. He stops trying to help but still participates, because, well, otherwise he’d be killed. Elsewhere, Kang No-eul helps Park Gyeong-seok by giving him a surface bullet injury, taking him to the operating room and then shooting the other guards dead to save him. He then threatens to expose her plans to the VIPs in exchange for a boat for the two of them to escape, and the Masked Officer has to agree. Of course, he is not complying… not yet.
Meanwhile, Jun-ho and his team try to find the islands, with Captain Park Woo-seok is unable to trust him and decides to investigate. Eventually, he figures out that Park is working with the games and is trying to lead them astray. A violent gunfight takes place on the ship, and Park is murdered, with only Jun-ho left alive. On the island, No-eul tries to escape with Gyeong-seok, but the Masked Officer threatens to kill his sick daughter and asks them to come back. No-eul instructs Gyeong-seok to escape on the boat, and she goes after the Masked Officer.

She sneaks into his room and forces him to delete all of Gyeong-seok’s information, after which they get into a fight. Masked Officer stabs her, but she manages to shoot him dead. In the sea, Jun-ho picks Gyeong-seok up. Meanwhile, Jun-hee gives birth to her baby in the middle of one of the games, and although they are saved thanks to Geum-ja’s sacrifice, the guilt becomes too much. Geum-ja ends her life after killing her son to save Jun-hee, and she voluntarily dies in the next game after fracturing her foot.
Now with a newborn strapped to him, Gi-hun is in a spot, but is determined to save it no matter what. Before the last game, the others start to gang up and murder the baby after it takes on Jun-hee’s spot and seeing this, In-ho privately gives Gi-hun a choice – he can kill everyone else and save himself and the baby. However, just when the time comes, he simply can’t murder people in their sleep.

With no other choice but to play, Gi-hun and the baby take part in the last game. Although the others try to kill both of them, Myung-gi manipulates everyone to kill Min-su first. They are unaware that he is the baby’s father, and he uses it to his advantage to save his child. Of course, that only lasts so long, and he is eventually caught. A fight breaks out, which results in everyone dying except Gi-hun and Myung-gi.
Is Gi-hun able to stop the games?
At the end of the last game, Gi-hun gets into a dangerous fight with Myung-jin, who is now too unsafe to take care of his baby and is only concerned about the money. He kills him and then kills himself so that he can save the baby and keep his promise to Jun-hee. So, no; he doesn’t stop the games.

Does Jun-ho find In-ho?
Jun-ho finds In-ho after alerting the coast guard of the island’s location, just as the latter picks up Jun-hee’s baby. However, he is not able to stop him.
What happens in the end?

The organisers blow up the place just as In-ho breaks in after realising that the coast guard is nearby. Someone takes the money, and we immediately cut to 6 months later. No-eul has the hope of finding her daughter, Gyeong-seok, having come out of this unscathed, is able to save his daughter, and Jun-ho comes home to the surprise of his life – Jun-hee’s baby is now at his house, along with all the money that has been deposited in a bank.
Meanwhile, In-ho takes Gi-hun’s belongings and delivers them to his daughter, along with the remainder of his money. On his way back, he comes across someone playing ddakji (Cate Blanchett playing the recruiter in a guest role!) and realises that the games are never going to stop.
