Squid Game Season 2 follows Seong Gi-hun once more as he makes it his life’s mission to see the end of the barbaric games that changed his life forever. Dedicating everything to seeing an end to the ruthless games, Gi-hun uses every resource possible to track the location of the games, eventually getting pulled into the deadly games once more. With his life hanging by a thread, he must stay alive playing a new set of children’s games with revamped rules while, on the outside, Jun-ho races against time to save him and, hopefully, his brother.

Squid Game Season 2 Ending Explained
The season opens right after Gi-hun decides to not get on the plane and follows him out of the airport. 2 years later, Gi-hun has paid off all of his debts and has now hired his previous debt collector to find the salesman. Although they have been searching in every subway station around Seoul, Gi-hun’s men have been unable to find him anywhere for years, until one fateful day they come across him playing ‘Ddakji’ in one station. They follow him and, in a moment of haste, they try to ambush him, resulting in the boss being killed in a ruthless game of ‘Rock Paper Scissors Minus One’.

The salesman then meets Gi-hun at the latter’s house and the two play Russian Roulette. After a thrilling few rounds, the salesman ends up shooting himself. From him, Gi-hun gets the information of a club that seems to be the hideout for the organisation and once there, he follows the masked guards to a vehicle from where he is abducted.
Why Does Gi-hun Come Back to Play?

Gi-hun comes back to play when he realises that there is no other alternative through which he can put the operation to an end. He thinks that he can dismantle everything once inside the belly of the beast and, as an added layer of protection, he puts a tracking device inside a false tooth. Unfortunately, the game people get rid of the tracker, leaving Gi-hun to make a desperate attempt to keep himself alive in the games.
What are the Changes in the Games This Time?

Apart from the infamous ‘Red Light Green Light’, this season features a six-legged pentathlon featuring mini-games ‘Ddakji’, ‘Flying Stone’, ‘Gong-gi’, ‘Spinning Top’ and ‘Jegi’, along with the last game called ‘Mingle’.
Also in this season, the players get to vote after every round whether they want to continue to play or quit and they can all get whatever they have earned up until that point and take the money home.

Why Does the In-ho Play in the Games?

Surprisingly in this season In-ho joins Gi-hun’s group and becomes one of their trusted confidants. Gi-hun and the others of course don’t know that he is the ruthless and dreaded Front Man, in charge of the entire operation and gives him all the information that he knows. Only Jung-bae gets an inkling of the person that he is after In-ho murders someone in cold blood in order to win. He plays in the games in order to keep an eye on Gi-hun, considering he knows so much about the games and how to win.
What Happens in the End?

In Squid Game Season 2 Episode 7, Gi-hun and a few of his friends decide to play a difficult game. When the others attack them, they decide to play dead and eventually ambush the guards ID-ing them. With guns in hand, a group of the men rush out to take the facility over but find it difficult considering the sheer number of guards with ammunition they have to face. As more and more people end up dead, Gi-hun and Jung-bae rush through the halls as In-ho tries his best to thwart their plans without making them aware of his identity.
In the end, however, it seems like the men don’t win as Jung-bae is murdered Gi-hun is taken hostage and the others either end up dead or give up the fight out of fear. Thus, for now, Gi-hun isn’t able to successfully go through with his plans.
What do you think is in store for Gi-hun in the next season? Will he finally get the revenge that he has been seeking for so many years?
