The 7th episode of Spy x Family was definitely everything that a good comedy anime should have. Now, without further ado, let us jump right into the review and see how this episode went.
Spy x Family Episode 16 Overview
After the successful first season, it was only natural that we would get a second season for the Forger family. The anime is back with stunning animation, clearly influenced by the triumph of season 1 and a fast-paced storyline that will never cease to amaze the audience.
Furuhashi Kazuhiro directs the anime, and on the other hand, Wit Studio, CloverWorks is in charge of its animation. “SOUVENIR” by BUMP OF CHICKEN is the opening theme, whereas “Shikisai (色彩)” by yama is the ending theme.

Spy x Family Episode 16 Review and Recap: Yor – The Best Mom Ever
When it comes to comedy, nothing can beat the Spy x Family franchise, which employs simple situations to make you roll on the floor laughing. This episode as well, showed us how just the random activities of kids could be as hilarious as well-written jokes.
Here, we also get clarity on the person who wanted the Desmond brothers out of the Eden Academy. George, who normally is an introverted boy, had to resort to underhanded methods when he got to know that he would suffer the consequences of the adult’s mistakes. And somehow, in all this mess, the Desmonds play a keen role. This is why George swears revenge on them, especially his classmate Damian, who recently achieved a Stella star.

I must give props to the wild imagination a kid like George can have and commend him for coming up with the extreme outcomes he might see himself suffering in the future. He is absolutely sure that after today, no one will hear from him, and it will be his last day in his beloved Eden. But a twist at the end proves how unanticipated circumstances can be in Spy x Family and that you cannot take anything too seriously in this anime.

The second half was definitely a treat for the Yor simps. Not only does the anime give us stunning shots of Yor doing parkour around the town, but also leaves the Yor x Loid shippers with some crumbs in the end.
Their relationship is certainly not a lovey-dovey one yet, but any interaction between them does make you hope that they end up together soon. This section also showcased just how pure-hearted Yor can be and how strong her diligence is towards the Forgers.
She genuinely wants to be a proper mother to Anya, and for that, she can go to great lengths. I believe Loid as well, is slowly starting to warm up to her and is not as suspicious of her motives as he used to be in the beginning.

Verdict
I loved the episode more than I thought I would. In the first half, I was giggling away because of the random things the kids of Spy x Family do. The highlight was definitely Anya’s face, who perhaps was the most relatable one thinking what the hell was going on the entire time George was on screen.
The second half was great, for the fact that it was a win for Yor lovers. Being a hardcore supporter of the Yor x Loid ship, I had a big fat smile on my face by the end due to their awkward but lovable interaction. Watch Spy X Family on Netflix.
