Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 2 Overview
The talented author Isuna Hasekura has written this remarkable series as a light novel, which is beautifully illustrated by Jū Ayakura. The story is directed by Takahashi Takeo and Sanpei Hijiri, and it follows the life of a travelling merchant who, one day, finds a young, naked woman sleeping in his carriage.

The anime series features the musical contributions of ClariS and Hope Hana for the theme songs, and Penkin Kevin for the overall score. The series has received official licensing from Crunchyroll, whereas TV Tokyo and AT-X are the original providers of the broadcast.
Episode 2 of Spice and Wolf Reboot 2024 can also be called the 2nd episode of Ōkami to Kōshinryō (狼と香辛料).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 2 Review and Recap – Let The Journey Begin

The first day of the journey begins for Lawrence and his new companion, the wise wolf Holo. Now that they are kind of in a partnership, Holo follows wherever Lawrence goes. And, their first stop is an unnamed inn where they had to stay for the night because of a sudden storm that approached out of nowhere.
In this episode, we got some interesting information. Holo’s ears and nose can do wonders. She can sense the approach of any calamity or even get hold of lies told in front of her with her ears. Holo is very proud of this fact as she has saved many of her friends like this. This is also how she warned Lawrence when she sensed rain approaching them.
Now, Lawrence definitely cannot take a werewolf with her pointed ears and fluffy tail inside an inn. Hence, he covers Holo up with a hood and makes up a lie that she is his wife who has a burned face, because of which she hides her appearance. This whole journey has been nothing but fun for Holo, who is loving the outside world. But it’s not her first time outside, as apparently, she has made short trips herself in the past.

Another intriguing aspect of this episode is how we are slowly discovering the merchant’s world in this anime. We are also witnessing just how good of a businessman Lawrence is when we see him approaching a Lord of a vineyard and establishing a successful connection with him. But with good connections also comes bad attentions and Lawrence might have gotten himself into a rather peculiar interaction with another merchant. It is a young trader who is shady and might harbour unlawful intentions towards our pair. But what problems he can create and how our protagonists will handle that is something that we will have to see in the next episode.
We also get some background information on both Holo and Lawrence. And along with them, realise just how different they are and how differently they have lived their lives.

They have only begun their trip and will encounter more adventures, which will surely be a fascinating thing to witness for us.
