Siren Survive the Island Ending Explained: Who is the Winner? What Do the Fireworks at the End Signify?

Siren Survive the Island ending has left a lot of people confused and, we can, clearly, understand why that is the case. The show has proved to be exceptionally well made and has been a really empowering watch. With its growing popularity, it somehow makes sense why the makers gave us the fireworks aka those colourful sirens at the end and, we are here to discuss our thoughts on it along with noting down the winner of the first season of this reality series.

Siren Survive the Island is created by Lee Eun-Kyung and produced by Ko Min-gu. With Studio Modak being the quintessential production banner, this Netflix show has a cast featuring females from various professional segments such as police officers, firefighters, bodyguards, soldiers, athletes and stunt actors. There are a total of ten episodes in the show. However, previously only five have been released, the rest have dropped on June 6, 2023. The runtime for each episode is 50-60 minutes.

Siren Survive the Island Ending Explained: Winning Team & More

A lot happened in Siren Survive the Island Episode 6 to 10! Now that the show has aired all its episodes, it is understandable why Netflix had divided it into two parts because, by the time we get towards the end of the series things get really dirty and complicated.

When we arrived at the sixth episode of the show, only four out of the six teams were left to compete: Firefighters, Soldiers, Athletes and Bodyguards. In the latest task provided, it was Team Firefighters that won and got control of the siren which meant they were the players who could decide when the Base Battle would start. They allied their forces with Team Athletes and both teams had a roll in the competition. However, there was a little foul play involved.

Team Firefighters and Team Athletes got together and targeted Team Soldiers. They, of course, did not take it kindly. In fact, around episodes 7 and 8, there was a huge quarrel that ensued between Team Firefighters and Team Soldiers, in which members of the latter team were penalized and eliminated. The siren ruled in the favour of Team Firefighters mostly because the other team broke a bunch of rules, one of them including Kang Eun-mi from Team Soldiers throwing a fire extinguisher at Team Firefighters.

But the elimination faced by Team Soldiers did not affect them much as when they landed on the Defeated Island, they got to know about the consolation prize of getting a chance to get back in the main competition on the Fire Island. They defeated Team Police and Stunt and came back into the competition.

In Siren Survive the Island ending we saw that the four teams were given a task that would result in a double elimination. Again Team Firefighters and Athletes teamed up to throw Team Soldiers and Team Bodyguards out of the competition with the final battle between the two allies.

Team Athletes came out victorious in the end, mostly because the alliance they had formed with Team Firefighters helped them in knowing the team’s strategies and weaknesses really well. However after Team Leader Kim Hee-jeong, Kim Seong-yeon, Kim Min-sun and Kim Eun-byul from Team Athletes become the last ones standing, we see fireworks go out hinting at a different challenge before the screen cuts us off. This might hint towards a potential season two or another level where the team has reached to secure a bigger prize.

  1. Thanks for the guess about the ending. It was a fun watch and I appreciated the team esprit de corps from all the teams. I can’t help but also think that the final “Out” message and firework was to hint at something to come! So I look forward to it.

  2. Great show! Great to see real women of Korea. Just can’t believe there was no prize! Just bragging rights! WOW! Hopefully they all got something behind the scenes. Hope they have a season
    2!

  3. I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and coming from me – a person who normally can’t stand reality shows and think survival shows are redundant – means a lot!

The fact that there was no true prize other than bragging rights/reputation is a testament to the perseverance of the contestants. They really, really wanted to win for their own pride and nothing more. I’d find it hard to believe that a show like that could be produced in America with American contestants.
