In the last episode, we were left off with Gwan-hee, Min-kyu and Won-ik waiting to choose their partners to go to Paradise. Before that, we saw two gruelling tasks in front of the men and women for a chance to go to Paradise and the men find it difficult to choose among the women, but soon they might not have the time to dwell anymore!
In the third season of the show, AKA 솔로지옥 3, we are back on the deserted island (and a new location) with rapper Hanhae, Hong Jin-kyung, actor Lee Da-hee and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun as MCs. Joining them is Dex, or breakout star Kim Jin-young, Season 2’s most popular wild card entry who had all the women swooning. The group of singles this time in Single’s Inferno 3 are Kim Gyu-ri, Choi Hye-seon, Choi Min-woo, Lee Jin-seok, An Min-young, and Lee Gwan-hee in the first group. The second group consists of Park Min-kyu, Son Won-ik, Yun Ha-bin, Yun Ha-jeong, and Yu Si-eun. Cho Min-ji joins the series later.
The show was created by Kim Jae-won, Kim Jung-hyun and Kim Na-hyun.
Single’s Inferno Season 3 Episode 8 Recap

The episode starts with the men choosing their dates to go to Paradise. Gwan-hee chooses Min-ji, and everyone seems to have accepted that he will be getting to know everyone around him before he commits to one woman. Min-kyu chooses Gyu-ri and Won-ik chooses Si-eun, to no one’s surprise. Min-woo looks devastated that both of his connections have left for Paradise with other men, but there’s not much he can do about it.
Jin-seok and Min-young spend some time together, and it starts off extremely awkwardly. However, Min-young opens up to him about her feelings, and it gets really cute and heartwarming afterwards, with her acting jealous about him talking to other women.
At Paradise, Gwan-hee and Min-ji waste no time eating a lot of good food and discussing their ages and jobs. Gwan-hee enquires whether or not she likes Jin-seok, and she indirectly tells him that other people’s assumptions and usually always wrong. He mentions that he will be able to make a final decision soon. On Won-ik and Si-eun’s date, he tells her that he wanted to run faster than Min-woo at the task, hinting that he wanted to go out with her. She tells him that the timing is always off with Min-woo, and he wishes for the bad timing to continue so that they can continue interacting. However, it seems like Si-eun isn’t really into him as much as he is into her.
On the other hand, Min-kyu and Gyu-ri also have somewhat of an awkward conversation because she is unsure about him as well. On the island, people tease Min-woo and ask him whom he likes more, but he refuses to answer them. The MCs mention that they are also curious about the answer to this question! At Paradise, Gwan-hee seems like a completely different person, washing fruit and discarding Min-ji’s cherry pits. His changing personality gives the MCs whiplash! It is clear that Min-ji has Gwan-hee wrapped around her fingers.

The next day, Gwan-hee helps Min-ji to get a stain off her pants and it continues to take everyone by surprise. The MCs are certain that he is in love with her. Back at the island, though, Gwan-hee seems to be really concerned about Hye-seon’s feelings and whether his going to Paradise with Min-ji affected her negatively. In between Ha-jeong wondering whether or not Gwan-hee likes her, it is announced that another women’s challenge is on the way.
This game is ‘Chicken Fight’ and there’s an underlying tension as the game starts. After a rather thrilling fight playing a children’s game, Hye-seon wins against Gyu-ri, Ha-jeong wins against Si-eun, and Min-ji wins against Min-young. The three winners fight against each other, but the result comes out in the next episode!
Single’s Inferno Season 3 Episode 8 Review
This episode has been a rollercoaster of emotions, and the show is starting to feel like Gwan-hee’s show, with him getting the most time and the women fighting over him. It’s a little weird, but then again, the fight for him is the most interesting and intense part of the show this time around, just as last time it was for Jin-young. It’s an entertaining episode, and the match is the most entertaining part of it. Hye-seon really turn out to be a fighter and can be quite scary!
The series is streaming on Netflix.
