The Korean Pop collaboration expands with this new collaboration featuring Lisa from BLACKPINK and Taeyang from BIGBANG. The song, titled Shoong! will feature these two artists, who will be collaborating independently from their bands. Apart from being an addictive R&B melody, this song will also feature some upbeat hip-hop energy with some intense dance breaks. It is also confirmed that there will be a special performance video featuring the two artists. Lisa has been consistently playing with genre in her music, of which this is an extension.
The track is expected to feature on Taeyang’s new EP, Down to Earth. While the tracklist hasn’t officially been released, the artist has shared some stills and a teaser for a music video for the track Seed. Shot in monochrome, the video shows the artist being hit by the waves, a wayward vintage car turning a corner and a couple of deeply existential gazes at the sky. Additionally, the song sounds like it will be a ballad with some deeply rich ivories ringing in the background. With the artist’s resonating voice, it gives the feeling of a saddened homecoming.

Apart from this comeback, the artist has featured in multiple album projects with the band BIGBANG. Originally a five-piece band featuring artists Dragon, T.O.P, Daesung, the aforementioned artist and Seungri, the latter left the entertainment industry in 2019, leaving the band a member shot. Their most recently released single came out in 2022 titled Still Life. They have stayed relatively on the low, releasing music once every few months or years. However, they have all started to make solo music.
Meanwhile, Lisa is part of one of the most prolific bands of this decade. BLACKPINK has been making waves in the industry. Featuring artists Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and her, this girl group has given others in their kin a chance to break out of the mould set for artists who identify as women in the industry. While they still make music together, they also dabble in making solo music. Fans are extremely excited about this collaboration between the two talented artists.
