Shark Tank India Season 2 episode 18 premiered on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television on January 25, 2023, at 10PM IST. Payel Seth is the show’s creative director, while it’s been produced by Studio NEXT, with Ravikesh Vatsa as its writer. The show is now hosted by renowned comedian Rahul Dua, and is joined by six sharks, namely, Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.
The eighteenth episode of the season has the official log-line describing the new entry as, “Hygenic and safe food karts by ‘Raasa’, a tech wheelchair by ‘Neomotion’, premium fruit popsicles by ‘Licksters’ and innovating the use of petticoats by ‘Sayonara’. Which startup idea will the sharks invest in?” With four pitches coming up in this outing instead of the usual three, the last pitch i.e. the ‘Sayonara’ pitch led by its founder Sahill Shaha, had the audiences alike the sharks cracking up to the extent that Peyush Bansal had cover his face during the shoot.
While some stories like Shivaji’s real-life take during the ‘NeoMotion’ pitch filled the viewers with immense inspiration, leaving a heavy impact on them, the major attention, however, was sidetracked by the final pitch. Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal managed to gather some praises along the way as well.
Some Twitter users have even accepted it as a paid stunt to fill up the remaining time-run, but the prime traction is once again drawn towards missing the former Shark Ashneer Grover. His witty and well-timed one-liners have now been widely adopted and incorporated in the usual verbal exchange by the audience, and the same were gravely missed in this episode. It’s got the fans wondering as to how he would’ve reacted, or rather “roasted” the business idea. Becoming the grand topic for laughs, the episode was coined “too funny” with laughing emojis dotting the Twitter-scape.
