The 2022 crime thriller South Korean drama series is returning for more this week! Check out the (형사록 2) Shadow Detective Season 2 Episode 3 preview to get an idea of what awaits Detective Taek-rok in the second instalment. The series is set to pick up right after the unfortunate happenings of the former season.

Directed by Han Dong-hwa, created by Im Chang-se and written by Son Jeong-woo and Hwang Seol-heon, the mystery K-drama stars Lee Sung-min, Kyung Soo-jin, Lee Hak-joo, Jung Jin-young and others in main roles. They were also spotted in the previous season along with Jin Goo, who won’t be joining this outing owing to the fate his character registered previously.

The veteran homicide detective, Kim Taek-rok barely scratched the underlying mystery behind the anonymous whistleblower’s (who called himself “Friend”) true identity. The dark reality underneath the secret mastermind’s schemes is yet to reveal itself. With his hands full this season, Taek-rok will immerse himself in twisted storylines to catch the person who’s determined to turn his life into a living hell.

Lee Sung-min was last seen in Shadow Detective Season 1 and Reborn Rich, while Kyung Soo-jin also helmed a role in the 2021 TV series Mouse.

Sung-ah’s recovery is already in full swing as we caught a glimpse of her health undergoing some improvements after the accident. The second episode lands Sung-ah in the hospital after incurring severe injuries following the blast at Woo Jang-ik’s office. Taek-rok had enrolled Yang Gi-tae’s help to install a spy cam at the same location, however, the plan backfires on them when he’s pulled into the case once Ju-hyun catches sight of him on the CCTV footage outside the Jang-ik’s building. On the other hand, Kyung-chan can’t yet place his trust in Taek-rok, starts doubting his intentions and initiates his personal investigation to uncover what he’s been hiding.
