Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa Set to Play the Titular Character in Doctor Who, Twitter Reacts

It is no surprise that audiences love BBC’s Doctor Who, which has been airing since 1963. However, this time around the series is going out of the way to create a history of its own as they have roped in Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa to play the iconic titular character. Gatwa will not only play the fourteenth version of The Doctor for this legendary British science fiction but, is also going to be the first black actor to helm the show.

Created by Sydney Newman, C. E. Webber and Donald Wilson, Doctor Who explores the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, who is an extraterrestrial being appearing to be human. Prior to this in 2017, the show marked another stepping stone by letting Jodie Whittaker be the first woman to play the iconic Doctor. But, looks like Ncuti Gatwa’s news of joining the cast has overwhelmed fans more than anything we have seen previously.

Taking to Twitter, Netizens have shared their excitement to see Gatwa helm the series. One of the Twitter users wrote, “Nucti Gatwa is a BRILLIANT choice. I’ll continue to hope for Adrian Lester one of these days but I can’t wait to see what he brings to the role.” Another tweet read, “nuctigatwa #14thDoctor #doctorwho I’m in for this season great casting choice can’t wait what this doctor who was in store in 2023.” Let us have a quick look through all these tweets down below!
