See You in My 19th Life Episode 3 Recap

The new episode picks up from where the last ended. After Ji-eum sees Seo-ah at Ju-won’s grave (Ji-eum’s 18th life reincarnation) they have an intimate talk about past relationships and hurt. However, Seo-ah does not reveal much, yet they are still connected with each other on some level. Following the visit, as Ji-eum is driving him back to his house, suddenly, a truck appears, coming at them at high speed. The instance took Seo-ah by surprise, which led to a panic attack as he remembers the accident. However, Ji-eum helped him recover.

Meanwhile, Ji-eum reminisces about her life as Ae-kyung’s uncle when she was ill and days away from dying. They both talk about the past moments over Soju and get emotional over it. Ae-kyung then convinces Ji-eum to express her feelings towards Seo-ah, and no better day than on the day of his birthday. She takes the opportunity and rushes over to his house to let out her honest feelings.

She arrives, soaked in the rain and says that she likes him romantically. Seo-ah is taken aback by the sudden confession and is seen with a perplexed expression on his face. After a few moments, Cho-won appears from his house, which makes the situation awkward. Seo-ah asks Ji-eum to leave, but she waits outside his house, confused. Cho-won tries to lighten his mood by bringing him a cake for his birthday, but it leads to a sudden argument. When Cho-won is leaving, she hands the cake to Ji-eum.

Later in the office, when Ji-eum and Seo-ah come across in the parking lot, she apologises for her abrupt confession. Meanwhile, Cho-won is seen arriving at the office with flowers and reveals that she is Emily, who they recruited for the hotel renovation. She pretended to be someone else so that they do not hesitate to give her the job, but after listening to Seo-ah’s harsh words, she rushes to leave the premises. Seeing her upset, Ji-eum invites her for a meal together.

During their lunch, Cho-won reveals that she has had feelings for Do-yun for a long time. In flashbacks, it is revealed how they both met each other during high school days. Later Ji-eum drops Cho-won off at her house as she gets too drunk and looks at her mother from afar. Ji-eum meets her mother from her past life to recognise her and reconcile; however, it is just a figment of her imagination. Seo-ah suddenly meets her on the road, and the episode ends on that note.

See You in My 19th Life Episode 3 Review

The episode continues to remain entertaining from the start till the end. Nevertheless, it has a few emotional moments that can definitely resonate with the audience. Although the couple is yet to get together, the chemistry between them can already be felt through the screen. However, the plot is much deeper than just a romantic one, as it deals with past trauma, mental health issues and loss. As usual, the actors have done a commendable job at portraying their respective characters.
