Netflix Thai Anthology Show School Tales The Series Review Contains No Spoilers

In Netflix’s School Tales: The Series, the makers have offered us 8 episodes that promise to creep us out with 8 different stories. All these horrific incidents take place in high schools. The episodes are titled as – 7 AM, Vengeful Spell, Beautiful, The Book of Corpses, Headless Teacher, Lunch, Curse, and A Walk in School.

The stories in the Netflix series are quite unpredictable and perplexing. For example, imagine you forgot a book your teacher had asked you to bring the next day. Instead of just scolding you, she mercilessly kills you? Well, that happens with the students in one of the episodes.

The series also have curses that can kill people. The episode that disturbed me the most was Beautiful. The first four episodes are filled with intriguing stories, chilling scenes, and startling twists. Except for Beautiful, none of the episodes terrified me. However, they still had me hooked to the screen due to engaging stories.

School Tales The Series Still 1

One of the episodes is a horror comedy, and it is the weakest one in the series. Neither the horror nor the comedy had any wow factor.

The makers didn’t dwell too much into going into the backstories of why these evil creatures, powers or curses exist. For the students, they are myths and rumours. But in the eight episodes, we witness the atrocities happening to them, done by them and the evil energies. However, one common factor in almost every episode was the bullies.

The main evil in the Thai horror anthology series is the bullies. These bullies are heartless and wicked individuals. Well, if schools have such awful and heartless students who harass someone just for fun, the ghosts will definitely lose their minds.

School Tales The Series have a lot of young actors. Every actor has done a brilliant job throughout. Actors who played the bullies have successfully depicted the cruelty that’s agitating to watch.

School Tales The Series Still 2

School Tales The Series Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, School Tales The Series is riveting and has some good episodes. Horror genre lovers will enjoy binging on it. However, the episode with horror comedy and the last episode fail to create any impact. While the evil spirits and curses do grab your attention, one can’t help but wonder – Why are there so many bullies in this horror show?

The show is now streaming on Netflix.
