Saint X Episode 7 Recap
In this episode, we see Alison trying her level best to make Edwin understand that she can be a local girl just like the people who live there because she actually appreciates the culture instead of appropriating them. Meanwhile, in the present, Emily has been having nightmares after seeing Gogo/Clive beat up a man. She tells her boyfriend, Josh, about it, and he has been extremely supportive. He explains that she needs to talk to someone, if not him, and she assures him that she will go to Dr Norton, who is her therapist.
However, at the doctor’s office, she is told how to view this situation when Emily already knows it is not about feeling survivor’s guilt but finding her sister’s killers and what actually happened to her. This interaction triggers Emily such that she almost gets hurt and even almost gets run over by traffic. Clive sees her this way, and the two of them go to the local Caribbean restaurant and play cards. We are taken back to the past, where we follow Edwin and see that he has always been gay. However, years of homophobia have changed him.
He still partakes in sexual activity with people of his sex but doesn’t tell anyone about it and pretends to hate gay people, going as far as calling them anti-men. The gay couple on the island saw him, but being good people didn’t out him to anyone. Edwin still thinks that everyone has been looking at him weirdly. But that is because he told Sara not to be with Gogo when they were younger, and this cat-and-mouse has been going on for a while.

Back in the present, we see Emily go out with Clive, and she says they should get something stronger, like something to drink, so they make their way to the club. Alison has been hanging out with Olivia, who suggested that maybe the former should propose a threesome with Edwin and Gogo, since she wanted to do something adventurous without making too many big strides. However, Alison is planning on keeping this classy and just visiting a local bar before going to Faraway Cay.
Claire has been disheartened by this outing because the two of them were supposed to spend time together. Meanwhile, Desmond and Bery have both been talking about including Clive in this whole Edwin situation because Gogo is totally in love with Sara, but she has always been promised to Sara in some weird way. It is so weird that at some point in the future, they are even married. Gogo doesn’t believe it at first. He is extremely annoyed that someone would even suggest something like this because it is incredibly inaccurate. However, Bery confirms it once again.
Gogo then goes to Sara and tells her everything about this, and she doesn’t deny any of this. But she does that if she truly loved him, then they would still be together. His point is that if Edwin hadn’t put any thoughts in her head about all this, then she would have made an effort at least. She counters that he never knew her, which makes him incredibly sad. While going to the local bar with Edwin and Alison, he tells the former that he knows everything about Sara.

Back at the club, in the present, Emily is dancing and casually gyrating on someone before she pushes away from them and starts grinding on Clive. It makes everything so weird that they both stand on opposite sides of the club. She goes back to the coping mechanism she had as a child, and Gogo sees it. He now knows that Emily is Claire. The episode ends with Gogo asking her to sit in his taxi, which she is actually considering in the last shot as the episode ends.
Saint X Episode 7 Review
This writer is glad that the convoluted saga is actually coming to an end. We find out some actual things about the characters that may cause problems for Alison. However, it still seems like the writing is so terrible and against the character dynamics that there is no way anyone should continue watching this show.
Once again, the whole stereotype that all homophobes are secretly gay comes to light in this series, and it is such a tired trope that the writers should have at least thought of something new. It is in this episode the writer realised that the accent and way they speak are also probably very offensive to people who actually live on the Caribbean Islands. We are still not given any concrete clues as to who could be the killer because they haven’t built that narrative. They might have to rush the entire story in the last episode, which is a terrible idea.
