And with the S Class 1st win Stray Kids have officially been granted the 5 STAR rating on an official music show! On June 7, 2023, Wednesday, the JYP Entertainment boy group took the lead on MBC M’s Show Champion weekly music broadcast. Defeating the other Top 4 contenders racing for the same title, the group also secured its overall 20th music show victory.
The Stray Kids S Class music video premiered on the band’s official YouTube channel on June 2, 2023, accompanied by the release of third Korean studio album 5-STAR. The titular MV won STAYs’ (fans of the group) hearts instantly as it captured their signature sound while also incorporating some new musical elements.
In addition to the octet’s (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and IN) song being nominated as part of the Top 5 hits of the week on Show Champion, others up in the race were (G)I-DLE’s Queencard, aespa’s Spicy, SECRET NUMBER’s Doxa and CIX’s Save Me, Kill Me. With this win, the boy group maintains its second spot on the “Most Music Show Wins by 4th Generation Boy Groups” chart with a total of 20 wins. Sharing their spots on the same list are boy bands like THE BOYZ, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN and more.
Today’s performances on the show included CIX’s Curtain Call and Save me, Kill me, KARD’s Icky, PURPLE KISS’ Love Is Dead, SECRET NUMBER’s DOXA, DKB’s Turning Point, NTX’s Circuit, XODIAC’s SPECIAL LOVE, DKZ’s (NINE To SIX) Don’t Call Me, ATBO’s Next to Me, BLACKSWAN’s Karma, The Wind’s ISLAND, and Nam Dong-hyun’s Blind.

Following the announcement, fans quickly took to their Twitter handles and congratulated their favourite K-pop boy group upon achieving this feat. Several hashtags swiftly took over the rising trends on the social media platform. Some of them were – “StrayKids20thWin”, “S_CLASS1stWin” and 빛깔뻔쩍스키즈특_첫1위. The boy group’s latest album also broke SEVENTEEN FML‘s record by becoming the most pre-ordered release in K-pop history.
