While the streaming platform Netflix has been getting the heat for cancelling some of the fan favourite shows like Fate the Winx Saga and others, on the bright side, some shows got some happy news. The chillingly dark DAHMER Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and the twisty thriller The Watcher are both returning for season 2 with more scares and drama.
Monster Season 1, co-created by Murphy and Brennan, is Netflix’s second-most-popular English TV season and is on track to reach 1 billion viewing hours in the coming weeks. It has been renewed for two more instalments and will now become an anthology series that follows other notorious figures who left their mark on society.
Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims. DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is a series that exposes these unconscionable crimes, centred around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.

While The Watcher, which focuses on Nora and Dean Brannock, parents of two who think they’re moving into an idyllic home in suburban New Jersey. But the family begins receiving menacing letters — and strange neighbourly attention, turning their dream house into a nightmare. It will return for a second season, from co-creators Murphy, Ian Brennan and Eric Newman.
In the first season, the identity of the Watcher remains a mystery with some suspicions of John Graff and Winslow siblings. They could have some hand in some spooky activities at the house. But are they the culprits is not certain. While we also saw at the end how Dean Brannock still can’t let go and is seen outside the house and witnesses the new neighbour receiving a letter.
Could Dean be the new Watcher now, is also a possibility and with the new season coming, we might get an answer to our mysterious letter sender. Usually limited series like the two mentioned, dont get renewed for more seasons, even if it ends on a cliffhanger or with the possibility of an extension. However, their popularity and watching hours might have contributed to their return.
