Right People Wrong Place Documentary: RM to Make Historic Debut at the 29th Busan International Film Festival

BTS’s leader, RM, is set to make history as the first member of the group to debut at the prestigious 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). His second solo album, which has become a global cinematic hit, will be showcased through the Right People Wrong Place documentary. This documentary, which offers a rare and intimate look into RM’s journey, will premiere at the 29th BIFF, which runs from October 2 to 11, 2024. It captures the making of his second solo album and the personal reflections that shaped it.

Right People, Wrong Place explores RM’s introspective journey, delving into his identity as both “Artist RM” and “Kim Namjoon the human.” The documentary highlights the tension between these two identities, with RM often feeling like the “right person” in the “wrong place” or vice versa. This theme resonates deeply with the challenges he faces as a global icon navigating personal and professional spheres.

The film chronicles eight pivotal months leading up to RM’s military enlistment, during which he crafted his second solo album. Fans can expect a deeply personal narrative that sheds light on RM’s creative process and the emotions that fueled his work. The documentary promises to offer a candid portrayal of RM’s life, showcasing moments of vulnerability and self-discovery.

Selected for the Open Cinema category, RM Right People Wrong Place will be screened at the outdoor BIFF Theater at the Busan Cinema Center. The film’s inclusion in this category underscores its significance, not just as a documentary but as an artistic statement that bridges music and film. Following its BIFF premiere, the documentary will be released in theatres worldwide, allowing Kim Namjoon’s global fanbase to experience this intimate journey.

Ticket information for the BIFF screening will be available on the festival’s official website, with details on the global theatrical release to follow.
