Born 6 July 1985, he is among the highest-paid actors in Bollywood and has been a recipient of several awards, including four Filmfare Awards, for his impeccable acting.

Band Baaja Baaraat (2010)

Band Baaja Baaraat is a romantic comedy film starring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. It is Ranveer Singh’s debut film which revolves around the business of wedding planning, while feelings blossoms between the main leads. He plays the role of Bittoo Sharma, who gatecrashes a wedding and ends up meeting Shruti Kakkar (Anushka) where she tells him her future plans of having a wedding planning business and Bittoo proposes to become the business partner.

Lootera (2013)

Lootera is a period romantic drama film about an archaeologist who comes to an Indian village and falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter in this Bollywood version of O. Henry’s The Last Leaf. Set in the era of the 1950s, against the backdrop of the Zamindari Abolition Act by the newly independent India, it tells the story of a young conman, played by Ranveer Singh who is posing as an archaeologist and the daughter of a Bengali zamindar, played by Sonakshi Sinha.

In this film, we can see the talented actor in a more serious role and it also received high critical acclaim upon release, becoming one of the best movies of the year 2013. Watch the film on Netflix.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013)

Or simply known as Ram Leela is a tragic love story of Ram (Ranveer Singh) and Leela (Deepika Padukone). The movie set up in Gujarat showcases an ongoing rivalry between the two families and a love story that blooms while hiding from this rivalry. The film is set to make you realise the strength that love can bring amongst two people to protect their special connection from their families.

Released in the same year as Lootera, you can see the actor in a rather toned-up cheeky character with her real-life wife Deepika Padukone. The chemistry between the two is amazing to watch. You can watch the film on Amazon Prime Video.

Bajirao Mastani (2015)

Bajirao Mastani is a period drama set in the early 18th century, where the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao (Ranveer Singh), already married to Kashibai, falls head over heels in love with Mastani (Deepika Padukone) who is a warrior princess. Their love is almost sacred and shows how their struggle to be together, Bajirao & Mastani’s historical romance invites a war in a society that is tightly bound by conventions.

The presents him as a royal character with exuding charisma that won him the best actor award at the 61st Filmfare Awards. The couple is back again in this film and you can watch it on Amazon Prime Video.

Gully Boy (2019)

Gully Boy is a coming-of-age story based on the lives of street rappers in Mumbai. In this film, Ranveer plays the role of Murad Ahmed, a final-year college student and son of a driver, who dreams about becoming a rapper. But coming from a poor financial background he had to succumb to menial jobs to survive but doesn’t give up on his dreams.

it was India’s official entry to the 2019 Academy awards however it was not selected but won the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea. The film revolutionised the rap scene in India and his acting was highly commended by the audience and critics. Watch this film on Amazon Prime Video.
