Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 3 Recap

The episode kicks off with Tatewaki Senpai, utterly smitten with Ranma—yet oblivious to the fact that she and his “dream girl” are the same person. He even spends a considerable sum buying photos of Ranma’s girl form and Akane from Nabiki. When asked if he’s interested in both girls at once, Tatewaki shamelessly admits he admires each of them for their unique qualities.
However, his approach to romance doesn’t exactly go smoothly, as he soon finds himself defeated once again when he challenges Ranma to a duel. Amidst these comedic moments, something is quietly unfolding—Ranma and Akane are slowly growing closer to each other.

Their bond is evident when they visit Doctor Tofu after Akane strikes Ranma for teasing her a bit too much. Akane’s fondness for the doctor is obvious, although he remains blissfully unaware of her feelings. Yet, in an amusing twist, Doctor Tofu unwittingly plays matchmaker, encouraging Ranma to see Akane’s true kindness and good nature. This works, and Ranma begins to appreciate Akane’s caring side.
In the final scenes, we see Akane’s quiet heartbreak as it becomes clear that Doctor Tofu is in love with her elder sister. Accepting this, she decides to keep her one-sided feelings to herself, not wanting to disrupt anyone’s happiness. Noticing her sadness, Ranma tries to cheer her up, albeit in his own clumsy way—which, predictably, backfires. Still, there’s a growing sense that these two are a perfect match, and it feels like only a matter of time before they truly fall for each other.
Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 4 Review

This episode starts with the introduction of a brand new character who is also a mysterious martial artist. We see him thrash a huge boar in the countryside, looking for the school that Ranma goes to. But it seems like he is way outside of the school area and has been pretty lost in his search. On the other hand, Ranma is living a very ordinary but hectic life at Akane’s house. He fights with his fiancee all the time, but there is a sense of companionship growing between them.
In school, Ranma finally faces off against the new boy, Hibiki, who has come to challenge him at a battle. Apparently, he and Ranma used to go to the same school before and would always fight. Hibiki once challenged him, but it never became fruitful as Hibiki has a terrible sense of direction, and he tends to lose his way.

Ranma waited for him for three days while Hibiki was travelling all around Japan in search of Ranma. Because of this outrageous reason, Hibiki thinks Ranma always runs away from him.
Hence, in this episode, he wants to finally fight with his rival, but he still does not clearly mention the reason behind his challenge. Their fight goes on an intense route, and that also involves Akane, who was just an observer in the beginning. Here, something very interesting happens because you can clearly see how much Ranma cares for Akane. Their relationship is going in the right direction where the situation is apt for an enemies-to-lovers scenario.

Verdict
I loved today’s episode as it was entertaining, somewhat romantic and action-packed. The way this show blends all the formulas of a good show together is fascinating and that makes you want to keep watching every episode. It is very clear that we will see more and more new characters, and honestly, that is the best thing about this anime.
