What Does the Investigation Expose?

Throughout the series, we see JP desperately trying to stop Rajjo and Babu from claiming more lives as they run from the authorities for Suman and Sahil’s murder. However, they are constantly one step ahead and on the move, jumping from Delhi to Mumbai as they see fit. The investigation eventually does lead them to the two, but not before they have claimed a few more lives.

In the end, the police find out everything that they can about Babu and Rajjo. While they interrogate Rajjo’s sister, learning that he had almost threatened and abused his niece in a fit of delirium, he learns that everything that Babu had told Rajjo was fake. He was a troubled child from the beginning and had actually set fire to his mother’s house, leaving her gravely injured and his half-sister dead. He had been hurting and abusing others since he was a child, with this destructive streak being a part of him from his childhood.

Did JP Catch Those Responsible? What Happens in the End?

JP does catch both the culprits in the end after following their trail, just as they are about to get on a train. Rajjo eventually goes against Babu to save himself, and the two are sent to prison. This case had made quite an impression on JP, who finally breathed a sigh of relief now that the two can’t hurt anyone else.

Is There a Scope for Raakh Season 2?

Although this story has seen its end, there might be more to JP’s journey as crime never stops, especially in India. Plus, further seasons can explore JP’s own trauma and realisations as he investigates more dangerous cases and tries to get the perpetrators behind bars. However, Prime Video hasn’t mentioned anything about a second season as of yet.

What Does the Ending Signify?

The ending showcases that sometimes bad people do bad things because they are bad. There might be no deeper reason or trauma underneath. In Babu’s case, he was always mentally unwell, hurting classmates for no reason. Rajjo, on the other hand, seems to have suffered from self-image issues, resulting in him being easily influenced by Babu to prove his worth. As a result, he did some heinous crimes to prove that he was a “man,” a notion that is very prevelant among people who lack self worth.

The ending also showcases how, despite the perpetrators being caught, some grief just cannot be overcome or forgotten. The last scene showcases what could’ve happened had the kids not gotten into Babu and Rajjo’s car that rainy day and highlights how one wrong decision can change the trajectory of so many lives in irreversible ways. The weight of the tragedy can probably be felt the most when we see Suman singing on the radio and her family proudly listening to her singing – a situation that can never become a reality ever again.
