Queen (Królowa) is a Netflix original Polish drama series released on 23 June 2022. It is written by the late Árni Ólafur Ásgeirsson and Kacper Wysocki. Directed by Lukasz Kosmicki, it is a mini-series with only four episodes with a runtime of about 48-54 minutes respectively. The series follows the story of a tailor in Paris thinking of retiring soon when a letter from his granddaughter makes him return to his hometown in Poland.
The series is also queer-themed and features drag queens as the lead also does drag. The cast includes Andrzej Seweryn in the lead playing Silvestre and Loretta, Maria Peszek as Wioletta, Julia Chętnicka as Izabela, Kova Réa as Corentin, Antoni Porowski, Paweł Koślik, Henryk Niebudek, Piotr Witkowski, Keiona, Himera Drag Queen and others.

Queen Ending Explained
In the series, Silvestre finally reveals his drag persona, Loretta to his daughter but Wiola is too surprised to see him in such costume and makeup. Also, it seems to be bad timing to come out of the closet to your family as a big earthquake is observed which shakes up the town and Wiola is more concerned about her daughter Iza, who works at the mining site.
Wiola was unable to process the gravity of what was revealed to her by Silvestre and gives some snark remarks while worrying about Iza’s safety. Iza safely walks out of her workplace but unfortunately, Darek and Marek are trapped inside the mine as the roof collapsed there. Iza gets stressed and while worrying about her friends, her water breaks before time and she starts bleeding.
She gives birth to a premature baby and subsequently Daren is also safely rescued but Marek passes away before the rescue team could help them out. On another hand, Wiola was angry with Silvestre for not telling her about Iza’s pregnancy but secretly she starts watching his drag performances to understand him better.

They come up with the idea of a musical fundraiser to help the families who lost their breadwinners in the mine accident. Silvestre steps up to become the director and costume designer of the show and calls up Corentin to choreograph the show and teach miners to dance. Initially, they face some difficulties as the local people make fun of their sexuality and mannerism but come around to help for the good cause.
In the end moment, the famous singer who was supposed to be the main attraction rejects the costume designed by Silvestre to promote her fashion line but Wiola stands up for Silvestre which leads to the show with no headliner. That’s when Wiola convinces Silvestre to lead the show as Loretta and show his hometown his true identity.
Will There Be Queen Season 2?
Officially there have been no rumours or confirmation regarding a second season. But looking at the audience reactions and rating the creators might think of continuing the plot after Silvestre’s retirement and a reunited family. In my opinion, the series seems like a complete story which might not need another season. But if they do decide to take it forward then maybe we can see what’s next in line for Silvestre since he has retired from the tailor shop.

Or will he continue to enthral the stages of France and beyond as Loretta, since he has publicly come out to his family and hometown acquaintances? The creators could also give us the back story of his life, as we never get to see his past with a wife and how he discovered his sexuality etc.

I love Queen ~ the heart and soul of what is love and kindness ..Season 2 please
Great series, though i was confused as to it’s time period, as the gala had donations shown in Zloty not Euros.
Loved this mini series. It truly is about loving one another and coming together for a common cause. I’ve watched it over and over. #2 please.
Euros was also displayed on the screen
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this series. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us season 2. And, maybe season 3?
I loved this mini series. I would love to see a season 2. What a wonderful story!
Agreed, absolutely beautiful! I can relate. I’m not a drag Queen but coming out to family, I lost my children.
I enjoyed this series immensely. I would watch anything with the actor Silvestre please have another season
Queen was an unexpected surprise—and a most welcome one at that. I certainly hope there will be a second season, and the last scene in the film certainly lends itself as to a predictor of some of what can happen and more fully illuminate the possibilities of this most interesting, talented “tailorf.”
Amazing movie.
Watched it I enjoyed every single second.
It is amazing.
Laughed and cried during every episode! The camera work and sets were so beautiful. LOVED EVERYTHING about this series. Would love to see more of this story.
Watched this several times. A second season would be so great. This is so much better than other shows with multiple seasons. You really feel for the characters and want to be with them more.
This series is so beautiful and will help many to understand those who differ from themselves. The story set in a mining town with its hardships and macho men was very effective in helping to break down stereotypes, fears, and even unfounded hatreds. Thank you!! Season 2 please!!!
